It was a great chipper that I went to once a month sometimes more but since the new owners have taken over it I've been once this year because for some reason the and taste different and I not enjoying them anymore
Very disappointed with the portion sizes lately. Last week I was shocked on how small the smoked cod was and chicken kebab tray had barley any sauce. Today I ordered the batter burger to be crispy which it wasn't and also got a burger, bag chips and a kids meal. The kids meal had more chips then the bag of chips which it shouldn't have and it measured out to be a handful size literally. I called G. Macari to make a complaint to be told on the phone the person doesn't deal with that but will pass a message on and then told me a few other people have made the same complaint about the portion size.
25 minutes for two bags of chips tonight a Tuesday , it’s meant to be fast food, I’d have been quicker cooking my own! The problem again is the really rude staff, no acknowledgment of this, no apology. At least tell me there’ll be a near half hour wait!! I’ve been going here regularly enough for years. If the nice lady isn’t working the place is a mess, the men are just rude ….and tonight, incompetent. It’s slowly been getting worse. A big problem for me is when you enter the shop you can often be standing there for a few minutes before they even acknowledge you and take your order and then its all too often done in an unfriendly manner doesn’t happen when the lady is there. It’s almost like it’s a hassle for them. I’m done with it after tonight and will use other local places instead. My neighbour stopped using this chipper months ago because of the rudeness, I told him he was being a bit OTT but now I see his point. It’s quickly getting a bad name. If somebody orders a bag of chips they shouldn’t be waiting 25 minutes no matter how busy the shop is, You’d nearly be quicker in a restaurant waiting for a full meal!! But….Again it’s the manner that it’s done in is the problem.
At one stage it’s was the best chipper around now it’s the worst.. new owners i even told them there chips are not coked probably and the not very nice lady said her family is running a chipper the past 50 years so she’s knows what she doing.. very bad service bad food bad people say away if you don’t won’t to waste you money.. and the quality is just not there So much better 5 mins away.

I order the smoked cod with chips. Just get in my car , I opened the bags , I couldn't believed, I got the fish and at least 6 chips that I paid 7.30 euro, I was rushing home, I am very disappointed with this shop, I wouldn't be back :.
Absolutely disgusting customer service I'm a regular customer here and always deal with a lovely lady.. and my job always orders big orders from here but won't be again unfortunately from today and I will never order again and I'll make sure everyone knows the way I was treated. I rang to get delivery and was told be some rude guy. they can only take order from there website no problem I go on to do it and it will not accept my card details money on my account. I call back get the same rude guy I explained the website won't take my card I get told so what I can't do anything..if you can take it true your own website using your own delivery drivers surely you could take my order over the phone..
Curry chips and smoked fish were crispy, fresh and delicious. Portions generous too. It's just a shame the service is painstakingly slow. And frosty at best. Not quite sure why service establishments whose livelihoods depend on repeat custom and positive word of mouth think it's worth it to behave that way, but there you go.
