The food is decent but the service could be better. I got a pastry yesterday; layers of puff pastry with icing sugar on top. I asked the staff if the pastry had any filling. They were confused what I meant initially but I explained cream, curd, chocolate like anything inside. They looked unsure but said no. I asked if they're sure and they said they are but looked irritated. The pastry had lemon curd in it didnt find out till after. The coffee some days is good other days it's burnt. Please maintain consistency in your food and TRAIN your staff. I'd be wary about eating here or ordering anything if you've gotten allergies or need to rely on the staff's knowledge. The staff is clearly only hired on the basis of being Portuguese, not on their ability to do a half-decent job ‍
Been here quite a few times and the coffee is always amazing better than most speciality coffee places in London, full of flavour and richness. The desserts that I have tried were very nice. Months ago they also had an amazing vegetable soup made with vegetables from.their garden, if you happen to find it on their menu do not hesitate to buy it as you will not regret it.
Went in to get my son a birthday cake the day before his birthday party and I cannot express how thankful I am for the service and extra mile they went to get my little boy cake done exactly as he wanted it . The cake was delicious and your effort made by the staff gave my boy the biggest smile and spark on his eyes as he looked at the cake . Thank you soo much . I’m truly happy with my experience at Funchal Bakery . Turned out even better then we wished for .
Lovely authentic cafe in little Portugal. We had a craving for a good Prego Especial after our recent trip to Madeira and we weren’t disappointed. Great coffee too!
This is a nice little place. It is obviously Portuguese ran and delicacies, cakes and other products come from Portugal. For those who are more experimental than your English breakfast fans.
On the 8th december i took some pastel de nata in a box for the upcoming breakfast, were ok maybe not delicious as those that i ate in Portugal, but still ok
Fresh and delicious pastries, great coffee and service. The staff was very happy and friendly, wanting to help and gave amazing service.
Good food, good sercice , i recommend
Nice sandwiches, great coffee, delicious natas, friendly service and fantastic value. There's a really local, down-to-earth feel to the place - a much-needed antidote to the corporate chains on one side and the insta-brunch spots on the other. Never change!
Probably the least expensive pastel de nata in London. A very authentic Portuguese experience complete with overly bitter coffee.Recommended dishesPastel De Nata
