The food looks amazing! The taste was ok. Guacamole was mostly grains and disappointing but it looks good The eggs Benedict cane with a soft boiled egg rather than a poached egg. The sausages from the English breakfast tasted just like Richmond’s frozen type. Our forks bent they were very flimsy. Coffee was good. Can be a wait. Staff were very friendly. Go if you want a nice looking Instagram post, not if you actually care about the taste.
Small Cafe' in buzzling Brixton Village. It's probably one of the most popular brunch spots in the area and it's clear why. Their food it's absolutely incredible and so is the hospitality. Carol, the manager, is an absolute sweetheart and I could spend hours chatting to her. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious and well presented but my favourite has to be their French Toast. Moist and with the most delicious toppings is possible one of the best I've ever tried. Disclaimer: queue might get long on a weekend but your patience will be rewarded!
Been here in Brixton for about a week and had to check this place out. My goodness it's delicious! On our first visit I ordered the French toast with berries and tea, and my hubby ordered the half English breakfast with a flat white. Both dishes were excellent! Being from the United States we've never had an English breakfast but now we get why people love it! Beans on toast sounds weird but it was delicious my husband shared a bit with me in exchange for French Toast. My French toast was divine! Perfect amount and so delicious. The staff were very attentive despite being quite busy and we got great service. So much so that we came back today. I had to get the pancakes this time and hubby got the French toast because it was so damn good! The pancakes were great too, but my vote is still for the French toast or English breakfast. Anyway, check it out and if they're busy - wait it out. I promise it'll be worth it!
A hidden gem in Brixton village. It’s a tiny place with a few table and chairs. Friendly service, just make sure to avoid going on weekends as the to both sit and get served is in the hours. We came back mid week for a more relaxed breakfast, and the butterscotch covered french toast didn’t disappoint. And their coffee is excellent.
Thank you Imran for your fantastic service! Our Mexican eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale with side of sausages was just enough to hit that good food spot! Hollandaise sauce was spot on! The flourless chocolate cake was that melt in your mouth type gooey goodness... I highly recommend Burnt toast cafe! Great work guys! We’ll be back
The frittatas were a little too salty for both our taste, but the soft boiled eggs are just absolutely fabulous. Everything a brunch should be, the classics, and a few options with a twist. I highly recommend the Mexican breakfast, such lovely flavours. The coffee is superb, the service is fine, a little slow though, as I finished my first coffee before the food and only got the second coffee way after everything would have gone cold.
came here for brunch after always seeing it busy. Only outside seating, be warned, but the food is excellent and the coffee was decent too. you do your own toast which feels slightly gimmicky but at least you get hot toast. great place, will be going back as pancakes looked incedbile
5 Star Food let down by poor service. I ordered "The Magnifique" which I have to say was incredible, and looked to me to be the best of the bunch from the menu. In fact everyone I was with seemed very happy about their own choices. However I'm not sure I would go again, the first person we spoke to on arrival potentially the owner was quite rude and wouldn't let us sit down whilst we waited for our friends to arrive. They were only 5 mins down the road. This meant we stood and stared at the empty table we should have been sitting at until they arrived. The experience after that then felt quite rushed and I didn't enjoy my food as much as I would have as a result. I would like to point out though that the second waiter we had a young asian bloke was extremely friendly and great with us, he just felt a little overworked so couldn't keep track of things. Finally we arrived at 10am so quite early and it didn't look too busy, but only an hour later it was heaving and you'd have to queue for a fair while I think. So get there early and avoid groups > 4.....sorry for the long review but in short great food, just didn't feel like an enjoyable experience.
One of the best breakfast in london. The shakashoka is the right way it should be. When you come on Sunday be there exactly at 08:50 or you won’t have a place to seat.
The pancakes are exceptionally good and the staff really look like they enjoy working there. The Mexican breakfast pictured is good too
