Had the fish and chips which were tasty and not too pricey. There were plenty staff and service was quick. It was Saturday night before Halloween so it was lively and was entertained by all the costumes. Football on TV so hubby was happy apart from score! Loud music but it was Saturday.
The pub has a nice atmosphere although the prices have shot up quite a bit since the last time I was there. They have a nice selection of spirits and the nachos are so nice. I visited with my friend who had her baby with her. We wasn't allowed to sit inside as they have a no children policy. Doesn't make sense to us as we had to sit outside where everyone was smoking. Staff are friendly enough and they have security on the door which is reassuring.
Didn’t know what to do when we got in so we asked the person at the bar they told us to sit down. So we did 5 minutes later they asked us to move to a different table because we had a kid at our table who was under 14. Then we found a different seat. No waitress had to go up to the bar to order. The lady at the bar took her 4 tries to print the receipt so we could sign. Only good thing was the food was fast but the food was bad don’t come here!
This is an honest review of actual experiences. One of the toilets ladies has been leaking since i.dont know when. Hit and miss which taps work. I hate to think what would happen if it suddenly got busy as the staff have no idea how to serve customers in a reasonable time frame. Staff are wondering about looking like they have no clue what they should be doing. The food quality has deteriorated massively. You have to get your own cutlery, after they've served your food out. The condiments are left almost empty. I really don't know what has happened
Was put on the top floor and furthest room away, not great a day after dislocating my knee. Obviously not the hotels fault. However, the stairs aren't great. Room is very small. Plenty of plug sockets. Wasn't the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Bar downstairs was decent and let you take glasses up to the room, which was a bonus as there was only 2 cups in the room. Good access to Underground via DLR. Less than £95 to stop in London, which isn't a bad price really.
My review is not about the food or ambience of this establishment, although it didn't standout either. I am writing about how they treat their customers who are driving to this place and park in their parking lot. Be aware that you will be slammed with a PCN parking charge notice. This is the first pub I experienced who have contracted with a private parking enforcement agency and applies a parking fine to their customers. really really teriible. and when you appeal it showing a valid receipt that you were a customer, their somehow negotiate the parking charge. totally ridiculous. I would avoid this place for the shady practice.
Worst boozer I’ve ever had the misfortune of visiting . Food was terrible and staff not much better. Ordered nachos. Got cold popadoms with cold pulled pork. I waited so long and was so hungry I didn’t dare send them back in fear of what I might get in return. The bar staff were stood at the end of the bar at 8:30pm doing shots. Then half an hour later on the gambler. Monday night and this place is run badly, by kids!
Enjoyed a delicious sunday lunch at Fox Connaught. The camembert to start arrived hot and was wonderful tasting of garlic and rosemary. Ordered a beef roast dinner which was a huge portion, the beef was cooked perfectly and the roast potatoes were delicious. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was amazing too. I would recommend, and great choice of wine! My partner ordered the half roast chicken, you can see from the photos how much food there was. The staff were attentive, quick and friendly helping with recommendations for wine. Will be back soon!
Parking scam in operation! Stopped for one drink and received a parking fine while parked in customer car park. Contacted bar to explain and they said send proof of purchase I.e bar receipt and it will be waved. Appeal denied and now they want £170! Total scam!
Wow I don't know what to say.... I can say the man behind the bar and the one who came with our food was lovely. Friendly and helpful... However, the food was vile. I only ate a mouthful of the burger but couldn't eat any more. No taste and the bacon?? Well if you can call it bacon... the food was delivered out of sync. The starter, for one of us, came after the main was delivered. The roast dinner, that 3 of us had, was so bad I don't know where to start on that one. I don't think we will be going back for more
