Staying in a cottage in Carlton North Yorkshire, with daughter son in law and grandchildren. One day to ourselves so we walked up for lunch a lovely country pub, the food was fantastic and although we chose lite bites very filling. Nice friendly atmosphere, would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Really lovely pub. We had a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. Rarely have we found a pub with such a relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious, our dogs liked it too
A nice village pub with good food in generous portions, beer is varied and well kept, the black sheep ale is recommended. Hosts are friendly and welcoming and the crowd seemed quite friendly. Lovely location and a lovely little pub to match.Service: 5/5
Terrific food at very reasonable prices with an extensive menu. Best fish & chips I’ve had for ages. Fabulous banter from the staff. Don’t ask questions about the menu or you’ll need trauma therapy
What a fantastic pub. We had a wonderful meal here today made all the better through geat service, really friendly atmosphere and a warm open fire. Definitely returning for more. Cheers
Only popped in for one...ended up having two! Really friendly staff, the lady behind the bar on Friday afternoon was really friendly. I think it's got new owners, best of luck to them.
Called in for Sunday lunch. Great traditional roast with all the trimmings, and good price. Well kept Theakstons bitter, choice of Black Sheep and another draught bitter too. Friendly service.Service: 5/5
Nice place. Has new owners. We stayed in the room. Couldn't get the heater to work so slept in cold. Has tea and water and cookies in the room. Has shampoo, tampons and cottons too. The food is alright. Not much healthy choices. However, has classic English breakfast. And burger, various meat and choices for dinner. A bunch of desert. Decent collection of drinks. No data signal on phone. Has working WiFi.
Excellent country pub, under new management. The beer and food were both great and the staff made us feel welcome. Will definitely visit again the next time we are in the area.
Great community owned pub. Excellent beer from Wensleydale Brewery. Good food. Clean rooms. The staff make you feel very welcome.
