Really cool eclectic pub discovery we made on our hike today. Even though I don't drink ale I was seriously impressed with list on offer and I'll definitely be going back to to visit with friends. I wish i had more time as could have sat in there for hours looking at all the momentos.. It's awesome!
A great Pub. It's an unusual and quirky place. Excellent range of drinks available. They regularly put on live music and I had the good luck to see Wild Willy Barret, an excellent show. We'll worth a visit.
We came here one afternoon evening to walk and see a gig in the evening. We needed to book our places and pay in advance for the garden gig. This could include food and beer, but since we were staying in campervans we decided to cook and have the beer as we needed it. I arrived early afternoon and was very well looked after by the owner who showed me where to park. The walk was lovely in the countryside, woods and river. The car park is ample and garden tented out with tables and chairs well spaced. By 6pm we were able to get some beers and sit at our table with about 60 others gradually arriving before the start at 9pm. The music was great and we got table service for beers which were £7.50 for bottle of 2pints. Service was a bit slow but I think some waiters were new and getting used to what to do. The car park in which we stayed overnight was largely flattish and quiet in a great location. There is a disability toilet and sink available at the back to use. Excellent and quirky people….Fully recommend
Had a great visit to this very quirky pub great friendly welcome by the landlord and landlady. The menu was very varied and we enjoyed the lamb kebab and goat curry. Looking forward to returning for one of your music events. Thank you for letting us park up overnight in our motorhome
Amazing as always. Love this place, Fantastic Food, Top notch Beer. Fantastic choices for Gluten Free Food and Drink.
Great food, drink & atmosphere, this pub has the biggest personality. Fantastic line up for Gigs in the Garden. Bowie, Stones, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac & Abba + lots more.
Nice little pub, with a beer garden. Dog friendly garden is fenced so they can wander freely. Food is good try the lamb kebab! and they cater for vegans and allergies etc. Staff are friendly and polite!
Nice cosy pub, very quirky decoration. The bar doesn't stock everything that you would expect from a larger chain pub, however the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food is very accomodating including GF, veg and vegan options. There was unfortunately a long wait for fairly simple food, but it is large portions. General cleabliness could be improved. The pub is very dog friendly. Parking is ample and there is a large garden and balcony seating that overlooks the garden and car park.
Really interesting pub. Probably not for everyone but i love it. They also have some great events.
Very quirky 'proper' pub. Real pub food and a decent selection of beers. The Cuckoo clocks are very tasteful. The fact the floor slopes significantly will help with the 'I think I've had enough' feeling
