Stayed here in October 2022. Staff were very friendly. The dinner menu was varied and interesting. I had one of the best steaks I've eaten for a long time, but there was also a good variety of vegetarian dishes. Our bedroom was spacious and well-equipped. Bathroom modern and spotless. The attention to detail in everything is quite extroardinary. Will certainly be back.
Lovely pub, great food, excellent service, really nice atmosphere. We were booked for 8pm but turned up early for a drink and were given a table right away. Had a super meal of seafood starters and fish pie main, then sat through in the bar for last drinks. Very friendly atmosphere, staff were great. Looking forward to our next visit!
We visited for dinner while staying in the area and wish we were local so we could come back again! The food was fab, great wine list, and friendly staff. The toilets were the best I’ve ever seen in a pub and I wish I could take the hand soap home as it smells so good! I’d be a regular if I lived in the area and I’ll definitely return if I’m passing again.
Fabulous food, beautiful rooms, a real treat. A great stopover after a good walk in the Trough of Bowland. Real ale is varied and always excellent.Rooms: 5/5

Sublime scallops and prawns on toast and a slow roasted shoulder of lamb washed down with a perfect pint of black sheep. Just 10 minutes off the M6. Well worth a detour.Service: 5/5
Out for a walk on a holiday with the better half and stumbled across this gem whilst we were lost! Hot day and a very welcome cider ensued! It was was a Thursday evening and the pub was bustling! We were served quickly and took a seat outside in the sunshine! Good beer, good atmosphere and dog friendly too! Didn't spend too long there, but would definitely visit again!
Very friendly staff and locals, a proper country pub. Best fish & chips I’ve ever had!
Lovely old pub. Limited menu but quality food with great service. Made to feel very welcome. There is a small shop in the pub for basics.Service: 4/5
