Ye Olde John O'Gaunt Pub, Lancaster

Story

Welcome to the Ye Olde John O-Gaunt facebook page.

Situated in the middle of Lancaster's busy town centre, the John continues to thrive, whilst keeping its rustic appearance inside and out. With its ever popular live music weekends to real ales, the John provides that 'real' pub atmosphere.

Gaining its first license in 1871 the John has seen many generations of people walk through its doors (and crawl back out), and has gone from strength to strength. Unscathed from the current climate, The John continues to push on.

From Live music on the weekends to open mic on a Sunday, the pub is always full of life. Encouraging the local up and coming talent to well established world wide groups, it's had it all.

Tuesday night is Quiz Night which has been gaining popularity, are you up to the test? With supper available accompanied by a lovely and welcoming atmosphere, we recommend anyone to challenge the Johns old faithful.

Why not step back in history and visit one of Lancaster's oldest pubs.

In these days of separation, it's hard to find a pub with atmosphere. Everywhere feels sterile or corporate. This pub still retains its character and the staff have big smiles. Had a good pint of Guinness.
Stopped by this pub and met Tommy outside who later appeared was performing there that night as well. Great person and even better musician. He made my night! The bar itself was superb, bartender was super friendly, everyone there were great and created atmosphere I would love to come back to. Deffo recommend it !
Always worth a visit to a real old fashioned vintage pub.
The best place to go and drink! Most amazing staff!!
Live music and fantastic care for covid, including temp mesureing on entry
A very good pub, good beer and live music
This place has a good vibe and there's always something on. If you like music then give it a try. The bar staff are welcoming and there was a friendly crowd in when I visited. The beers appeared to be limited to the Marston's range.
Always something on, a good local pub with a great atmosphere
An old exterior with a modern interior and a Cody pub to enjoy a drink with friends
