We had our wedding there. During a heatwave. The view was beautiful the day was beautiful. Our ceremony and reception was fantastic. wedding breakfast and evening food was bountiful and cooked perfectly. The often unsung heroes are the staff. Very attentive, helpful and patient. Thank you for working in such hot conditions and helping to make our day so special. Lovely room and great fry up the next day too.
The Fleece is a very welcoming country pub and wedding/event location. The food is definitely at the higher end of pub food. We had a lovely lunch there and there was a reasonable selection of vegetarian options. The food was very well presented. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Our family have a lot of history with the pub in the past with members of the family running it during the war and being born there. Ask the manager about the ghost if you go! Plenty of parking and some great views also.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was some of the nicest I've ever tasted. It is situated in a lovely area and has lovely views over the valley. The service is good but we wished they were a bit more attentive, we waited quite a while for next courses and for assistance when we wanted more drinks etc. Highly recommend this place, its expensive but you definitely get your moneys worth I quality. They have a mixture of portion sizes but this is fine dining not all you can eat.
Staff friendly and attentive! Food was very average but priced at a premium. Expected more with the AA awards. Foods ok but it’s certainly nothing special or anything a home cook couldn’t beat. If you are going I would advise you request to be seated in the pub area at the front. We were seated at the back in a very large open room and it felt like we were part of someone else’s christening function. Beautiful view and location! Expect to pay £25 a head. 1 course and a drink. Couldn’t wait to get home and fill up with Saturday night’s leftovers.
Having heard so many horror stories from friends and family about getting things right with their wedding venue, it was amazing to have such a well versed team look after us so well from day one of deciding to book with you, through to the wedding day itself. Everyone did an amazing job, with the whole day effortlessly moving according to plan. The venue looked fabulous, and the food and drink were absolutely spot on. It's a shame we're only getting married once, as it's a day we'd love to experience over and over again!!!
Bit of road noise, but it wouldn't put off returning. Great staff and food top drawer, especially the breakfast! It's not bad for those with limited mobility issues. Really enjoyed my stay The Fleece. The short video of the view shows the beauty surrounding this gem of a hotelRooms: 4/5
We had an excellent meal here. It felt really Christmassy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Good number of gluten free options and not just the same old unimaginative dishes that some offer. If we were in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to return.Service: 5/5
Stopped for tea after a good hike. Good big one way car park. Quite a roomy feel inside dining room, real fire. Not long to wait for pie, was going to ask where's the carrots disappointed lack of veg until I tried the what I thought was parsnip! Lovely to see the sheep and goats running down from the top fieldService: 5/5
We had our wedding here on 02.12.22 and everyone was so friendly and made sure we had the best fay- which it was. The whole staff there were just so amazing and I would recommend this venue to everyone. The whole aesthetic was so beautiful and made the day even more specialRooms: 4/5
