Decent little pub. Friendly bar staff.Service: 5/5
Lovely pub in a lovely area. Ratings would have been higher but the person who often opens up is incredibly rude if you’re not a regular. Been in a couple of times over the year and always made to feel like an inconvenience rather than receiving a warm welcome- apart from that the pub itself is lovely.Food: 3/5
The one staff member was uncommunicative to a degree which displayed her complete lack of interest in providing any service other than what was in my glass. Not a publican. During my visit to this pub which was empty of customers when I arrived and remained so when I left she was either on her phone or playing some kind of game. There should have been...."Hello how are you"....."Can I get you anything else"....."How was your day".....This could be a much longer list. I have been going to this pub for four years or more and have witnessed the decline. This individual was the final nail in the terminal decline.
Bigger on the outside, I tried 2 different pints. The John smiths wasn't really that good, unless you drink John's you might not know what I mean. On the plus side there's a huge heated smoking area. I'll visit again to try another pint. It might be I got the back end of the barrel. Or the first out of the line.
Always a nice pint. In the colder months, real fire and nice view overlooking the valley. Service is always nice and friendly.Service: 4/5
Called in the newly opened pub, which has had some nice outside refurbishments to a nice standard I may add, however the inside is still way behind the times very old fashioned. Only about 25 people in tonight all night. Atmosphere was similar to going to a wake. Many senior citizens . Date Friday 25th March 2022 we arrived at 9.pm till 10.10pm. Apparently has the same owner at the Murgatroyd Arms, however its feels like a poor relation!!!! In comparison.
Brilliant pub now it has been taken over by the owner of the Murgatroyd Arms just round the corner. Inside is very similar as before but the outdoor seating and shelter is a lot better now to sit out and have a drink.
Very homely. When it's cold there's always a welcoming log fire. Excellent landlord Mike has everything in order. Several real ales - Mike really looks after his pumps and lines. I wouldn't ask for cocktails but what's on offer is good and fairly priced.
Was ok.... great views!Service: 3/5
Great pub!, Good atmosphere and dog friendly, doesn't do food but just along the road is their sister pub the murgatroyd arms which does great food, so all in all a winner, would recommend.
