Came here for Sunday dinner! Placed in a cosy table with nice set-up. The menus were basic but lots of things to choose from. We had 2x Giant Yorkshire pudding with Roast Dinner inside Picture below 2x 2 Meat Roast Beef / chicken and Belly pork shared through to meals. Picture below Kids Menu Chicken Nuggets chips & Beans picture Below 5* Quality food. No complaints at all.... Very polite and Professional Service, catered to our every need. BEAUTIFUL FOOD. One of the best Roast Dinners I have had in a very long time. Reasonable prices £15-18 for a Roast Dinner Menu Pictures below. Would definitely come again. Highly recommended 5*** Food & drinks: Non - Alcoholic San Miguel available
This establishment is advertised as a hidden gem and I would totally agree. The setting was tucked away in a setting beside old Mills. It was quaint and only a 15 min walk from the train station. The resteraunt served very delicious and reasonably priced food. Nice beers and such lovely staff. We stayed in one of the rooms which was compact but so clean and well decorated. Given that the pub is so historic the space has been used well. The staff were so friendly and we had a fantastic stay. Thank you all at the Shears Inn. Walkability: If you have mobility issues a car will be required to get to the Inn. You have to walk down a cobbled road but if you have no mobility issues it's a lovely walk.
Never fails to disappoint. Very homely pub with great friendly staff and proper home cooked food at reasonable prices. Good menu and drinks - real ale etc. Dog friendly and car park for camper van / motor home stay overs. If you come out of The Shears still hungry it's your fault Food & drinks: Very Good / Excellent
Had a great night's stopover in our Motorhome in the carpark. Went into the pub for a meal. It was lovely home cooked food and good sized portions, staff very friendly. Worth travelling down the road to it.Rooms: 5/5
Proper old pub, lovely beers and home cooked and plentiful food. I had corned beef taty and onion pie with chips & peas. Not much more to say……a great place to eat, drink and probably stay I never have as it happensService: 5/5
My husband and I chose to have a meal here after our wedding last weekend. I’d been previously and really enjoyed the beautiful food. They were happy to accommodate a large group booking we did book quite a bit in advance, and gave our orders a week before so they could be prepared, and on the day they couldn’t do enough for us! The staff were so friendly and helpful, everyone really enjoyed their food I highly recommend their beef dinners - absolutely delicious and they even kindly gave us a couple of extra bottles of prosecco to go around! Thank you to all the staff team for helping make our day special! Lovely little pub in a beautiful spot.
Visited as a group of 7 walkers. We had booked a table for lunch and we are all cask ale drinkers. The service we received was fabulous. The young lady who served the drinks and our food was delightful and efficient. The cask beers were well kept and as good as the best available. Most of us had the homemade steak pie, various options available These were substantial portions. The pie was made with shortcrust pastry, the homemade chunky chips were fab and either a choice of garden or mushy peas and a lovely gravy. We will return. I understand they are dog friendly and the pub benefits from a large carpark.
Seems to cater more for eaters than drinkers these days. Food looks great, though. The barmaid was aloof and poured my pint in one go with no time to settle nor any top up.Service: 2/5
The pub sti has the old charm that I first found over 30 years ago when I used to live nearby. We were attending a birthday party in Halifax and didn't want to go down the usual Premier Inn route. We were given a really warm welcome and showed toniur room which over looked the car park and stream . Being an old coaching Inn the pub has its fair share of creaks and groans which only add to the charm .We ate in the pub and the food lived up to its expectations with large portion sizes.which were tasty and hot . Honestly the staff couldn't do enough for us and we will certainly return in the future .
Nice drink but food done in a microwave so pastry was soft on the pie and peas needed a little more cookingRooms: 4/5
