The charity provides free housing, welfare and debt advice. I've been a user of the advice service and went on to contribute as a volunteer and help with producing Fitzrovia News. The staff have helped with my housing and welfare queries. The organisation also campaigns to improve the quality of life in Fitzrovia by responding to planning and licensing applications on behalf of residents. With pressure from developers to gentrify the neighbourhood the work of the charity is more important than ever.
This may be a little up the road from Soho but this Organisation is doing a fantastic job. Down in Soho too much has been turned in to residential for people with deep pockets, that is right wealthy people who maybe come to Soho a couple of weeks per year and leave these flats empty most of the time purely for "investment reasons" So to see Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association working so well at what they do is a real treat for ordinary working people. Just read their comments re: TFL and Regents Park which I have a great love for, and cycle through most days. Organisations like the FNA are incredibly important and I am so pleased they exist and have such nice murals on their side walls. A very important organisation for the West End of London.
Our whole household enjoys reading Fitzrovia News, published by FNA. It is full of useful information about the neighbourhood, and the FNA volunteers are helping to create a feeling of community in this busy little place.
Publishers of community newspaper delivered to all residences in Fitzrovia four times a year. Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association has supported the Fitzrovia Community Newspaper Group since 1980.
I lived around there for 12 years and never saw any signs of life.
Is anyone there? Allways seems closed and no they never answer the phone.
