I have used this company in the past to get a taxi from my home in Old Town to Swindon Rail station, and was always happy with their service. Now I need this again for some time next week so I thought to give them a call to book. This turns out to be impossible - I tried 6 or 7 times over the course of the day a weekday, and every time I simply get cut off with a curt message saying 'sorry we currently have no drivers available'. Look, I don't need a driver now, I need one in a few days time. Is there no operator who can book this in advance? Yes, you can book via their website but the minimum charge is then £20 - at least twice as much as paying the driver on the day, in my case. What an disappointing lack of service.
Andy was incredibly responsive throughout the booking of an airport transfer. Both journeys the driver was on time and communication upon arrival into the UK was excellent Could not recommend 1st Call Taxis more!
They hang up for no reason. If a taxi isn't available, atleast say so. There's a business etiquette that one must follow. With a taxi business in a place like swindon, you'd lose so many customers if you don't know how to have a clear conversation with customers! And it was not automated response system, it was a person speaking.
I called to book a taxi but was told all drivers were busy. I guess this had to do with the fact the ride was about 2 am. All the same, the person who spoke to me on the phone was courteous and helpful. I will try again when I am next in Swindon.
booked for an airport transfer, my plane was very late and the due time kept moving further . Kept in touch with Andy and he was waiting when the plane eventually landed just after midnight to provide a speedy journey back to Swindon.
Booked for a lift to a wedding in which I was a bridesmaid. The taxi never turned up No communication When I called, no answer We had also booked a lift home from the wedding venue Luckily, Virtual taxi stepped in and sorted out our lifts Extremely disappointed and caused a lot of stress

For the last year, we have been using the taxi services of Andy and his team for our wheelchair based daughter. I cannot recommend this company enough as we have found Andy to be reliable, trustworthy, kind and has great empathy with our situation.
