Great little find, lovely atmosphere, great place to sit, browse around the gallery and shop. Lovely food, freshly cooked and made on the premises. Could easily while away the day just sitting with a lovely glass of wine, eating olives and watching the world go by. Dog friendly too, what’s not to like…….?
Phenomenonal fish and chips. It was fresh and not swimming in grease. The mocha was also delicious and they had a yummy range of cakes, jams & spreads. The ladies at the cafe were lovely and friendly. We had great fun watching all the dogs coming and going whilst waiting for our food. Parking was also super easy, if there isn't a spot on site there is plenty of on road parking too. The perfect cafe, with the perfect food in the perfect spot. Would certainly go back again. If you are in the area you have to visit!
What a perfect spot for a tray of fish and chips! The batter was light and so crisp and the homemade tartar sauce hit just the right spot on an October lunchtime as did the mug of tea. Wandering inside it was nice to meet and chat to Catherine the artist behind much of the art and craft on display. There is a lovely vibe to this bistro and so nice that we could sit outside under cover with our dogs. I can very much recommend a visit here. I am looking forward to finding a space in my house for the beautiful print of the local area. Clare Unwin
Such an amazing cafe with tasty food & gorgeous artwork by Catherine who was working there. Very friendly and accommodating, so glad we found the fat seagull! Dog friendly also with a cosy terrace. Highly recommend
I told the nice lady behind the bar, that their Fish&Chips was the best I had so far in UK. I was serious about it : Came back a day later, and it was equally good, so it was not an accident. Good food, fair prices, friendly staff. Loved it!
This place looked lovely when we first pulled up. However, it was a grey, windy day and the only seating was outside. Had to go in to order...not a problem, but was disappointed with the lack of choice on the blackboard menu. Was quite amazed too that the cod and chips was a £1 cheaper than the scampi . The drinks arrived first and was surprised they were in takeaway paper cups. Then the food arrived. I thought it was delicious but, again, wasn't happy it was served up in a cardboard takeaway container with a wooden fork - had to go in to request a knife to cut the fish. In summary the food was very nice, the people serving were pleasant and friendly but I felt the prices were rather inflated for the type of facilities provided. A larger cake choice would have been good too .
Just popped in after having a stroll along the prom.. lovely quirky place, had 2 beers, a sausage roll & some jalapeno chips highly recommend! Have lived close for 3 years but never visited.. Will definitely be back again! Staff were polite & they have some lovely local paintings, jams & other bits & pieces for sale.
Very friendly place with excellent staff. Food was tasty and at a good price, much needed after a day on the coast. There is a large selection of food and gifts in the Deli, and we also very much appreciated the art on show in the shop - some stunning pictures. Would very much recommend for food, drink, a rest, and some lovely gifts for home. Thank you for making us feel welcome.
What a pleasant surprise this place is. We only stopped for coffee and cake but the fat seagull exceeded all expectations. Lovely friendly staff, a great selection of snacks, cakes & drinks and they do fish and chips too! Well worth a try if you're in the area.
A little gem of a place, off the beaten track, just perfect for a quick drink and a slice of delicious homemade cake, after a walk along the beach. Some lovely items in the gallery too and not particularly expensive. Glad we stumbled across it.
