This is an awesome American style diner, full of the character and charm of 1950’s USA nostalgia in this authentic style, family diner experience Even the cook had a cowboy hat. The beef burger was British beef and a touch overcooked but still very tasty and well presented much like the rest of the food in this lovely gem of a eatery Vegan options available. Limited menu but this brings the simplicity of the type of place this is evoking. American diner realness !!! Real Americans ate here with me!
Cool vintage American style in a very nice waterfront views, but you won’t find much American cuisine here but Jamaican influenced heavy breakfasts… the menu for me isn’t cohesive enough or in a strong direction with the aesthetic but enjoyable enough with friendly staff trying hard, but it seems they are still getting to grips with the operation of dining and should expand on their menu as well as their cutlery application, the largest fork they had was a flimsy chip fork which wasn’t enough to get into my food, had to result to a spoon. Beautiful little artistic area though and I wish them luck.
Disappointed how limited the menu still is, no breakfast. They don't give you plates, only have wooden cutlery, the knife is a joke. Only one napkin per person, given how messy the food is, that's not enough. Mac n cheese balls were a bit bland and could use salt which we didn't have on the table, burger by far the best, rest is ok. The kitchen is pretty slow, though the service was very nice and friendly, they really try their best. Hope the menu gets bigger soon.
Now under new management and are really trying to create a great dinner... The food is fantastic and tastes great..Really worth a visit you won't be disappointed. The owner is very friendly and nice to talk with. Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming
Absolutely delicious food, great hidden gem if you are in the area. Fried Gerkins and chicken wings to start and the chicken bacon and waffles for main which has a jerk and maple sauce. Would thoroughly reccomend. Really friendly service and we felt very looked after. Will certainly return when next in the area, thank you!
Great diner experience!! Very authentic diner with great burgers among other things and delicious shakes!! I have tried both beef and chicken burgers both eating in and via delivery and they were very good and freshly made. The atmosphere is great, with a very friendly staff and great music that takes you back! Really recommend! In the picture: cheesburger, double chic burger with rosemary fries and side salad and a vanilla milkshake
This place has just recently reopened & did the most amazing burgers for lunch. Between 5 of us we ate most of the current menu...due to expand to breakfast once the coffee machine arrives. Awesome jerk chicken burger & sweet potato fries, cheeseburger, hot dog & halumi burger. Just left the vegan burger to try another time. Well worth a visit & nice setting by the river. Check it out
Great food but needs a few tweaks. Only opened for 3 weeks so understandable that they haven't got everything in place. The hot dog and jerk chicken burger were great and the fries perfect. There was beer but no tea, coffee or wine! They will get there, we're sure and so will definitely recommend Fat Boy Diner especially on a visit to Trinity Buoy Wharf a gem of a visit.
Had the burger and fries for lunch and they were great while visiting. Hope to be back again.
No longer the same restaurant from the look of the menu. I ordered the chicken, waffle and bacon with a black coffee. Jerk sauce was great but a little sweet for me. The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, but the waffle was packaged, so it had a crunchy sugary texture which wasn’t what I’d expected, but the streaky smoky bacon was well cooked and went well with the whole meal. Not much to say about the coffee other than it was instant and hot. £16.50 for them both, overall very disappointed with the experience as it didn’t feel like an American diner and was overpriced.
