Far Peak Camping

About

25 acre campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Story

Camping with us in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds is a wonderful experience. We have everything from simple grass pitches and electric hook-ups to Shepherds Huts, all on 25 acres of woodland and parkland.

We encourage individuals, couples, groups and families to stay. We have a small cafe within the Climbing Centre, a Low Ropes course and plenty space to play ball and for children to explore. There is a pub within walking distance across the fields and plenty more further afield for those who like a longer walk or short drive. All the amenities of the Cotswold village of Northleach are 1 mile from the site and the popular towns of Bourton-On-The-Water and Cirencester is a 10 minute drive in either direction.

Far Peak is in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds area of outstanding natural beauty. There are miles of wonderful walks to be enjoyed in the area and lots of villages and (hilly) lanes to be discovered by walkers and cyclists or for the less energetic by car.

Overall an average site, very poor toilet/shower block which was not kept replenished with toilet rolls regularly enough. Leaking water waste pipes, no hand driers and generally too many people on the site for the amount of toilets/showers/washing up. There were no level pitches anywhere that we could see which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The bar and climbing area were excellent though and definitely raised the overall rating of the site.
Had a great week. It would be a 5 star if the cafe was open . With the extreme heat it was really hard to keep our food cool . The ice packs didn't freeze even over night in the freezer . Maybe due to people filling with ice creams and beer ignoring the signs . But the site is great and staff all friendly . Website needs updating if the cafe is still shut. Great location and all clean
Good location, large pitches. We arrived on a Saturday and it was very busy, the shower blocks were very dirty and almost constantly in use. That said when most people left on Sunday they had been cleaned. Maybe need larger or another toilet / shower block to cope with high demand. I'd visit again, just wear flip flops in the shower
It's a good location and very pretty surroundings. We were told we hadn't booked 2 plots even though had paid the extra for an additional tent for each night and left a note so had to squeeze 2 tents into our 1 plot. It could do with more toilets and showers as a busy bank holiday meant a lot of queuing at times and as we were placed at the back a 5 minute walk each way to use the facilities even in the middle of the night.
Had a really friendly welcome from the staff. Because it was raining, they allowed us to bring our car close to the Shepherd's Hut to unload which was very much appreciated. Shepherd's Hut was clean and in a lovely location. Will definitely come again.
Lovely camp site, particularly for families. Really good facilities, friendly staff, not too noisy at night. We had a great weekend and will be going back!
Stayed for a weekend with a group of friends. We were put in the top field which runs alongside the main road, the noise from the road made it feel like we were sleeping by the M25! Two other big groups in our field who stayed up playing music to 3am despite the 11pm curfew. Loos and showers were ok but quite run down. Climbing centre and bar was the highlight. Would not come again
Lovely camping site. Lovely owners, extremely helpful and friendly. The place is great, great facilities shower, toilets, restaurant, bar if you are lucky like us you can enjoy some live music .
This campsite reserved exactly the type of pitch I was looking for a spacious electric pitch for my campervan and awning next door to a non-electric pitch for our friends' tent and were very helpful throughout. Far Peak is a great informal camping location and we'll be going back!
Great site for family's and big groups with a very relaxed vibe during both times we have stayed here. The climbing centre, bar and cafe in site are all top with love music on thoughout August
