Bought a 56 plate VW Passat 3 years ago and the buying experience was fantastic. Tony looked after every aspect of the sale brilliantly. The car was cheaper and with lower mileage than anything i could find locally and 3 years down the road the car has been fantastic and had no problems whatsoever. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Never experienced a lack of unthusiam to sell a car like I have with these guys. Contacted them on Monday to ask for basic info which doesn’t appear on their site such as vehicle history, number of owners, last serviced, etc and received nothing back for 3 days. Sent a text saying i’m buying a car this week and their response was they’ve been busy. The info gleaned was the car is in excellent condition and owned by a countess. Oh ok then i’ll give you double on that basis! The salesman (Tony) was keen to know my location which was odd. End result I didn’t buy from these guys but bought elsewhere. Business must be too good for these guys!

My experience was not so bad as the previous reviewer. The initial interactions were positive and the garage very helpful in arranging delivery, etc. However, I purchased a car with the promise that if there were any problems I could bring it back and it would be fixed.  Two problems quickly developed. True to their word, Fairlands took the car back for investigation.  Almost a month later one issue was resolved but, apparently, they could not get the second issue to recur despite me having provided photographic evidence.  They proposed a significant fee for the “repair” (based on money the Fairlands had supposedly incurred to replace parts) but, after discussion, this was dropped on the agreement they would return the car without fixing the second issue.  The invoice to evidence the “repair” was never provided despite repeated requests.  A couple of months later and the repair had failed and I still had the second issue.  I have eventually found a reputable garage who managed to identify the problems and fix them both within 2 hours for £100.  Incidentally, I’m told the second issue is a relatively well documented fault with this model of car over a certain age so should not have been difficult for a garage to identify and diagnose. Neither problem was of a serious mechanical nature and they may be just incompetent rather than deliberately misleading. Unfortunately, either way, I cannot recommend this garage based on my experience.

Fantastic service again from Tony and Franco, contrary to other reviews on this page myself and others I know have purchased from Fairlands for many years, with a repeatedly honest, swift and efficient service. If there ever has been an issue, I've gone back to them and they have rectified it as soon as possible. Would certainly recommend to anyone out there thinking about purchasing from Fairlands to go and give them a visit.
