Great theatre. If visiting with little ones I'd recommend sitting a little further back because the seating is tiered beyond row E so they will get a better view.
Just been to see Jimmy Carr. The sound system was good and the lighten was on point. I was a bit late to buy seats so I was up at the top balcony and occasionally it did make my fear of heights kick off.
Great venue - saw Post Modern Jukebox. Only problem was the queue for drinks - nowhere near enough bar staff and we gave up trying to get a 2nd drink or we'd have missed the start of the show.
Always a joy to return to the Fairfield Halls. My old stomping ground from many years ago. Came here to watch Ben Portsmouth- Elvis tribute. Venue was spotless. Toilets clean. Bar prices not extortionate
For the location and the acts they pull to this venue, it's good. Right outside the bus stop and round the corner from East Croydon station. It's great for a local concert / events place. Simple but clean inside. Lots of space in the main areas. Quite a queue at the bars.
A nice venue for lots of quality performances. Attended the kids monster show.
A renowned concert, theatre and gallery - an early 1960’s Modernist venue - architecturally similar in style and intent to The Southbank’s Royal Festival Hall. Featured as a legendary “Rock Era” 1960-1980’s venue as a preferred location for live performance recordings. Recently extensively renovated but still a somewhat isolated presence, its thunder tempered, by the surrounding piecemeal, fragmented, dated and depersonalised public realm. Unfortunately still feels like an addendum to a prioritised highways to hell project.
Excellent parking for disabled people meant mum could attend the craft fair. Cafe not great as had very little food to offer a couple of pastries or crisps.
A great venue but a little run down. Sadly, the Croydon effect. Car park not accessible from hall and does not feel very safe.
Lived in Croydon for over 25 years and seen lots of different acts over the years - Harry Hill, Billy Bragg, Bellowhead, The Proclaimers, Mark Steel just some of them...mostly before the much needed refurbishment which has ended up being so controversial. Still a great venue but wish there were more shows I actually wanted to see as there seems to be limited choice these days...Great venue and great location and nice bar facilities but needs more variety in terms of shows....last night came to launch of Borough of culture which was pay what you can..great show and great idea...
