Found this tucked away Butchers yesterday in Ambleside by chance, and as we are travelling back home to Liverpool today, I thought to buy a few things to take home with us. The lady that served me was very knowledge and friendly and gave a couple of tips on how to cook my steak. I literally fancied everything and considering how much I bought, it was reasonably priced unlike other touristic shops you find in the lakes I would definitely recommend it, and now, I can't wait to get home to eat it all, thank you
I have been working at The Yan near Grasmere and used the best of the best meats from FW Garside Butchers . I have my own place in Ambleside and happy to used their meat for my dishes ,our customers taste the difference in the best quality you can get and they are very happy to know is locally sourced.
Bought some lamb chops and Cumberland sausage. Just had the lamb chops absolutely delicious. Saving the Cumberland sausage until we get home hopefully they will be just as delicious. Wish they were my local butcher but it is a bit far to come from Lincoln. You must give them a try if you are in Ambleside. More expensive than a supermarket but worth every single penny. Yummy
Small butcher but offers a wide variety and everything is at top quality. The lamb shanks and short ribs taste amazingly nice! Ribeye stakes are lovely too.
Brilliant little shop! We've been visiting Ambleside for years and only fairly recently stumbled across this little gem tucked at the top of North Street top of the road from the Rock Shop, past the Unicorn on the left. Lovely, friendly staff much better than the miserable chap in Claytons on the main drag the produce here is excellent and very reasonably priced. Cumberland sausage is stunning, lamb, beef and venison all top notch! Worth the extra two minutes' walk to seek this one out.
Xmas dinner is obviously one of THE meals of the year, especially when it's for a family of 12 that have come together from all over the world. You want to be using great produce and that's exactly what I got from Garside. The ham and turkey crown roasted beautifully and pairing their home cured bacon with their excellent Cumberland sausage was so tasty. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you.
Probably the best pork chops I've had in years! While on holiday we try and shop local. Having found Garside's I bought 6 chops. Had them pan seared, they were fantastic, thanks very much!
Excellent steaks and sausage rolls. Cumberland sausage was best I have tasted. If you are self catering in Ambleside you have to give them a whirl.
Great butchers. Meat had fantastic flavour, there are also great pies, sausages and scotch eggs. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
