Car price is great and got an amazing deal on upgrade. When calling to extend I was put through to an overseas call centre where I was given a price which was 3 times more than the original for half the days I already had. When I said it was too expensive she just said okay and hung up. On drop off I easier for 20 minutes in an unmanned reception. Deal was great other services could be greatly improved
Great service and really helpful staff. Even given the difficult weather situation and difficulties they were having on site frozen jet spray, car returns delayed due to weather. We had a slight wait as the car was prepared, but really the staff were great. Particular shout out to Joanne who sorted out all the paperwork and made sure that we had everything we needed. Thank you Europcar, and Joanne, your good service and reliability really saved what had been a problematic trip to the UK.
Friendly Staff but poor and disappointing level of customer service. I never get the vehicle that I've selected online, although I booked weeks in advance. I have to wait long periods of time to be handed the vehicle ; on one occasion it took them 1hour30mins for them to get my vehicle while I waiting. They've deducted for extras that has not been discussed with me before hand. This branch in Sheffield leaves much to be desired and in need of proper management. Best thing about Europcar is price but I guess you get what you pay for !
Absolutely appalling! I Thought by paying £250 for a 7 day rental online would secure the car/booking…… NOPE! I received an email advising your booking is TO BE confirmed within the next 8 hours??? - this was approximately 10.15am and the store shut at 1pm so a call was made to “customer services” - an outsourced call centre NOT the centre from which you book the car collection to confirm the booking. All was confirmed in full including a small premium for an out of hours collection time slot for 1:15pm. Upon arrival and stating we were there to collect the car at 1:15pm it was 12:55pm we we’re bluntly advised the booking had been cancelled …. VIA E-mail!!!!! AFTER the confirmation was made over the phone. The car I had reserved wasn’t available Fiat 500 AND there was only ONE car available Mercedes Saloon Type so why confirm in the first place? Complete wasted journey with no way of arranging another car in time for Monday and now have to wait for the refund to be cleared so essentially £250 out of pocket to be able to even attempt to book another car elsewhere! Would strongly advise going elsewhere if you don’t want to be disappointed - read reviews other people are having the same issue!! EDIT - note on my starling app is telling me the refund will take 30 days!!! Un-f*cking believable! Absolute joke of a company! !!!!
Avoid Avoid Avoid. Delivered me a car with a fault on it. Rang them for them to arrange an RAC patrol to come even though I hadn't broken down. RAC rang me and told me they would not come out because I hadn't broken down. They rang Sheffield branch where the car was delivered from and I was promised a call back. No call back. I chase them 2 days later and guess what...promised a call back which I am still waiting for. Called customer services to get someone who barely spoke English who just talked over and would not let me speak. Wouldn't let me speak to a manager to complain. Can't get a phone number for branch to sort it out you just get passed round a call centre with non English speakers who are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Still have the faulty car they delivered for another week and a half so let's hope it doesn't end in me getting locked out with my newborn baby or even worse in an accident....cos believe me there will be a serious complaint going in....thats if I can ever get hold of anyone.
Everything happened very quickly and in line with my expectations. The lady from Europcar was very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend! When I rent a car - it's only from Europcar :
Absolutely awful. Car wasn’t ready. Charged extra as they wouldn’t accept returns on Sundays after booking online. Wrong car given. Waited 4 hours to collect the car past booking time. Avoid.
Do not ever ever try and hire a car from this company. After over an hour on the phone speaking to Alex??? Who did not have a clue what he was doing. This was an emergency. Never ever use Europcar and please review Alex's performance as it was worse than dire
So there are a lot of bad reviews here and I suppose for a car rental business people are more than likely to share their bad experiences rather than good, but just to balance things up, my experience was pleasant and seamless. As good a service as anyone could give for a car hire business.
it was going great until EUROPCAR got involved Non-fault incident was going great, the scratches on car sorted out and then EUROPCAR got involved. Europcar are the worst company I have dealt with in my life. Booking in process terrible, 50minutes on the phone to arrange a hire car, Europcar Sheffield collection process even worse, didn't collect their car when arranged, awful contact centre operation means you cant actually talk to the branch directly. I will not be renewing my Insurance again with my current provider unless I can specify that I DO NO WANT EUROPCAR. Awful experience.
