We booked a car for 4 days and we prepaid the booking. Upon arrival, the guy at the front desk started upgrading our booking saying that we did not have insurance and we needed it, adding the 2nd driver when nobody asked and other things that I don’t even remember. At the end the total bill was almost £700 FOR 4 DAYS. I want to congratulate the salesman skills of the guy at the front desk who, with his talkativeness, took advantage of non native-English speakers to steal their money. I will never NEVER NEVER rent a car here.
I rented a Europcar in Inverness and traveled to Loch Carron to visit my friend. It was good service and easy to pick up and drop off. I would rent from them again.
A chap by the name of Zac dealt with us at the airport desk. Very friendly, very helpful. A very userfriendly service. But be mindful of the insurance policies. I took out the policy on the booking website which is NOT easyjet or eurocar insurance...its third party Insurance policy. I tried to cancel to take out the eurocar insurance at the desk but alliance wouldn't cancel my policy they said it was after an hour...so I just went with insurance I had... but all was well. Some companies try to sting you when you return the car...so I always take out the full cover with the hire company...then I don't have to worry.
The process for booking was easy. Showed up, picked up the keys with no issue. The staff member Jamie was fantastic to deal with. A personal thank you for your service.
The car wasn't ready when we arrived, maybe that's fair enough, these things happen. But we'd ordered car seats for our two kids and were told they weren't sure if they had any. We were then told to go down several levels to the car pool to search for car seats ourselves. We eventually found some sitting against a wall. We were then told to fit them ourselves because they didn't know how... The guy that served us was nice enough but they were basically incompetent and when you have two tired kids hanging off you a lack of customer service is really brought into very sharp focus. Use them at your own risk - if you require any particular service outside of the typical make sure you phone in advance to ensure that they absolutely know when you're coming and what you need... Even then they might be no use.
This was the worst experience of our holiday. We booked and paid well in advance, waited an additional 30 minutes after pickup time was scheduled and were told that it was going to be another 2-3 hours, to go get lunch and coffee, take a taxi there - that it would all be reimbursed. We took this advice and had lunch at a local cafe and returned to Europcar Inverness to find the staff were completely rude to us, refuse to reimburse us, and waste a further 30 minutes of our time without giving us proper directions to where the car we'd paid for was parked. We then arrived at the car and it was filthy from the previous drivers. When we returned the car to another branch I mentioned this service and the attendant said that she wasn't surprised, that this is common feedback about this branch. We had a far better experience in Germany and they didn't even speak a word of English! Do not rent from Europcar Inverness. Spend the extra time renting from any other outlet. These people will take your money, waste your time, give you a dirty car 4 hours later than arranged, treat you like garbage, and ruin your day.
If you are travelling on vacation in Inverness, do yourself a favor and spend the extra 20 minutes to catch a cab to the airport to rent from any other company that is NOT europcar. We wasted a half day to obtain two automatics that were not ready or available, after we had reserved them months in advance. We also received smaller cars, so for the next 6 days, we had to play luggage tetris. Kind of bummer when you are on an international vacation and you have to spend brain energy on being grumpy with the car situation. We also found an air bubble in the tire, not our doing, and reported it to europcar, so you know, the next person didn't get in an accident, and the staff person took such joy in telling me we would be charged for it. I was told a manger would call me, and I am still waiting for that call days later. Don't rent from them if you are on vacation.
First time using them and the whole experience was faultless. Down to the perfect car and the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Will be using again when I come back.
Great location very easy to get to from train station! The team in eastgate were a massive help and nothing was a bother to them! As the time of year the station is busy due to it being peak summer but staff were faultless and made the experience brilliant!
Online checkin does not work 'Internal server error'!. Finding the location was ridiculously difficult. Beware: the Google maps link they email you is wrong. Expensive. I would give it one star but the staff tried to be helpful.
