What an amazing experience at this lovely pub restaurant. On Sunday at 4pm we decided to have an extra late lunch on our way to a concert in Torquay. We had a very warm welcome, firstly by the young lady as we walked through the door and then by the waiter who took our order. Nothing was too much trouble for him and that restaurant decor made us all feel very comfortable. Ordering a selection of starters and roast dinner mains see photos the food was hot, high quality and very well presented. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and whole experience and we give our thanks and congratulations to the front of house team for their attention and interaction with us. Also the chef and kitchen team for producing such delicious food!
Fabulous meal for our wedding anniversary weekend, at one of our favourite places in the area. We shared tiger prawns to start which were covered in the lightest batter I’ve ever had. Our venison ragout was exceptional and the vegetables delicious. We couldn’t manage a pudding so I had coffee which was also rather tasty. Good selection of wine, and drinks from the bar. The restaurant is very prettily decorated, the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, service is quick but not rushed, in all making this a lovely place to be. We visited again on 30 December and have once again enjoyed a stunning meal. We love this place! Our tiger prawn starter was just as good as our previous visit, my seafood risotto was divine and my husband’s Moroccan Chicken was amazing. We had to indulge in desserts and were not disappointed by the cheesecake and lemon chaboust which were both delicious. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
What a lovely little place. Such polite and attentive staff. We had the locally sourced haddock and chips and baked cod, prepared fresh and so delicious. The interior is charming makes up for a perfect evening meal. Definitely recommended if you are in the area.
What a find, hidden away down a typical Devon narrow lane but we'll worth a visit. The building has a beautiful extension which can hold large parties. I cannot tell you how good the food here is, exquisite! Every plate finished and every belly full. Your plate will be full of spectacular quality food. The service, second to non, honestly the friendliest service I have had from anywhere. Charming pub, charming service, beautiful food. Book a table and enjoy !
Just Wow. Called ahead to book a table after a recommendation from our host and were accomodated with no fuss. The venue itself is absolutely stunning in a lovely location clearly steeped in history. It has the feel of a traditional British village pub. The menu is extensive, cooked fresh and of an extremely high quality. The price is at the higher end but this is reflected in the portion size which is enormous. Enjoyed Scallops to start and Ribeye Steak, both of which were potentially the best i have ever enjoyed! Great welcoming service with a smile, would not hesitate to rush back!
Great selection for all tastes in a lovely location. We have dined here on at least four occasions and have never been disappointed. Good beer, good food, and excellent service.
Had a delightful 3 course meal here, the staff were very friendly and professional. The food was sublime and the pub was very tastefully furnished. The peppercorn sauce was probably the best I've ever had, would highly recommend and will definitely be returning if I'm in the area.
15 of us visited The Elizabethan Inn for Sunday lunch We range from 13 - 81 years and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals The food was superb The best roast I’ve had for a long time, were some of the comments The staff were extremely friendly & super helpful. It was lovely welcoming cosy pub Wish we lived nearer
Excellent dinning experience, following covid regulations we were made to feel very welcome and not rushed through our meal, excellent waitress service from the young lady that served us. The menu was limited but still having enough choose to suit every palate, i had the sunday roast which was cooked to perfection, i would definitely recommend this restaurant
Lovely pub, good food, service good, only one downside roast potatoes and vegetables hard and preheated , it let the roast beef down.
