Met family members for a catch-up and meal. Excellent choice on the menu and extremely generous portions. All dishes were cooked perfectly and very professional service from the staff we met. We will definitely be back and would recommend to others. Only minor quibble which is common nowadays with all eating out experiences is the price of soft drinks which seem disproportionate to alcoholic drinks.
Lovely atmosphere and staff very welcoming. Christmas decorations up so very festive. Had the roast beef small carvery served by a very amusing chef!! Beef could have been a little more tender but the trimmings were fabulous. Would go back Food: 4/5
My fiance and myself were served by two people. Neither of them seemed like they wanted to be there. Both of them had an attitude. The place itself looked quite nice when we first went in, but the more I looked I thought it could've done with a good clean. The cake I had was ok. My fiance's was very dry. I don't think we'll be back.
First time visiting this restaurant. I wasn't too happy being seated at a dirty table then having to collect my own drinks. I wasn't expecting too much from the Carvery but I was happily surprised. The food was AMAZING I clean my plate. Will definitely be back.
What’s happened to the usual high standard carvery ? Always use this place with the family when up in Edinburgh. Usually spot on , but mediocre at best last week. Food just warm left entirely by my unimpressed mother in law I ate mine but it wasn’t the usual standard. The cold dried out roast tatties hit zero in my view.Unlikely to revisit…sadly
Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a 70th birthday. It was noisy, with screaming unattended kids everywhere, dirty tables, unbelievably slow service, no cutlery, and surly staff at the bar. My food was nice when it arrived, but if you are unfortunate enough to be seated anywhere near the play area you'll be quite honestly desperate to leave. My first and last time visiting unfortunately.
Had carvery, good value for money. Suffers from the usual carvery problem of food not being very hot. Still very tasty though. Pudding serving was enormous! Cant fault it, very nice. We will be back!!
This place is amazing value for money! Huge menu, even though their speciality is their carvery, there is something for everyone. What a choice from the carvery, meat, vegetables, choice of potatos, gravy wow! Full bar and plenty of choice Reason i didn't give it 5 stars, staff were a little slow, I think they were short staffed, and the overall restaurant/bar was a little dirty tables, the bar, the carpet but again could be due to the staffing issue Definitely worth a visit!
Not good unless you want carvery. We ordered the root veg pie and chip shop supper. The veg pie was overcooked on the top to the point that you couldn't put a knife through it. Interesting that my oven baked chips were the same colour as the regular deep fried chips on the other plate. Came with 3 carrots and peas! Fish was the thinnest ever, nothing like the menu pic, mushy peas cold and the accompanying bread and butter never materialised. Poor show, never again
Quality of food at the carvery was exceptionally good. I usually say no to the yorkshire pudding as they can be too crispy for me but that leaves extra room for the delicious veg, potatoes and yummy stuffing.Food: 5/5
