Some dishes were excellent others just OK. We had a dinner of starters. Pigeon and scallops were excellent, cooked well with good flavor. Oysters fresh and briny as they should be. Cod cheeks were a bit dry and tartar sauce didn't do much for them. Lobster ravioli pasta was not to our liking and sauce was flavorless. Chocolate fondant was most excellent.
This really is a hidden gem in The London Bridge area. Edwins provides a relaxed atmosphere mixed with a hint of fine dining and quality service. Great way to spend an evening with your other half or with friends. We had the Chateaubriand which was really tasty but expected the portion size to be a bit bigger for the price £50 and hence one star deducted. Would definitely recommend.
We have been to Edwins at the last day of our holidays in London. The atmosphere was really nice, regardless the restaurant is located on a street with a lot of cars. The service is fantastic. They instantly showed us our table, they helped a lot at choosing our plates, and they refilled our water glasses every time they were empty in the blink of an eye. The food was very good too. Me and my family, we are three people, got fish dishes. The starters and mains were really delicate. Also, the dessert was nice. Although the prices are pretty high, you have to calculate with about 50 pounds per person, it is absolutely worth it. 20 metres from Borough underground, above and entered by the side of The Trinity rather average pub. Excellent eclectic menu of Euro staples and some really unusual stuff, all done well as far as we could see. Fresh flavoursome oysters, perfectly cooked Chateaubriand, unusual cheeses. Top rate service. Nice, relatively quiet atmosphere. Thoroughly recommended,
This place is a real hidden gem. My sister lived in borough for a full year and missed the sign for Edwins, but boy are we glad we decided to try it one day. Every dish we had was perfectly executed. Oysters very fresh. Love the lobster ravioli as they were just morsels of heaven - so rich in flavour. I could have their fish stew for days. Lamb three ways was beyond our expectations and each way of cooking the lamb was uniquely tasty. Couldn't recommend Edwins enough. Go there now!
One of the best meals and nicest atmospheres I've experienced in all my restaurant meals out in London! I will be returning here as my number one choice for the perfect combo of all the elements I love when choosing a meal out!!! Such great service and perfect mix of elegant but casual ... classy but relaxed:... superb food:.... I haven't got my dessert yet but I have never written a review before in my life but it has been so good thus far that I figured I'd write it now whilst waiting for dessert:.... I assume it will be just as good:
A hidden gem of Borough. Situated just a few meters away from Borough tube station, Edwins restaurant never stops impressing. Every dish is fresh and packed with flavour: a delicate pigeon with artichoke and port sauce, a lightly spiced hake with mussel broth, and a scrumptious chocolate fondant with ice cream as gooey as it gets. All the food has a home-made comforting feel to it. Based on the premises of a first floor apartment, a small restaurant with just a few tables feels very cosy. Prices are more than affordable, with set menus offering a great value. The service is attentive and pleasant. Would visit again? Yes, with pleasure.
The food was delicious! Lobster ravioli to start was to die for, I could have eaten it 10 times over. The fish stew was cooked to perfection. Amazing flavours. Wonderful atmosphere! I will definitely be returning ASAP!
Upscale traditional British food with loads of games. Good quality and friendly service. No beer on tap :
I have been here with a few friends to enjoy a nice dinner. We started with a drink and it was good. I had a Negroni which was done to perfection, others had a spritz which was also good. With the drink we had oysters which were fresh and tasty. We then ordered our starters and mains. All was perfect and well served. The staff was nice and helpful. I really suggest this restaurant
