East Close Hotel

Attended here for a private function (wedding reception). The hotel and staff were great! I didn't personally stay in a room but I have been told they were good also! Lovely venue in a lovely area

Actually a very nice building quite quirky 30s feel. I chose it as I liked the thought of sitting in an old chesterfield sofa with a hot drink after a long journey. Got here at 9pm on Sunday after a four hour drive to find the restaurant was closed and the bar was shut, even though the hotel information in the room said it closed at 10 pm Ended up with going to find food out. Room was small but nicely laid out, ensuite shower are clean and nice. Side lamp doesn't work So why the three stars? I found myself lying on possibly the worst bed I have ever slept in and I was in the military. The mattress was horrible, every time I move a Spring stuck in my side. If I moved to close to the edge I rolled off the blooming thing, it sqeaked and groaned when I moved. Honestly I a 30s themed hotel still needs a modern mattress not a 30's one To be honest it was only my stubborn side that stopping me from sleeping in my car. Breakfast was very nice, morning staff were pleasant and helpful. Gutted at the end as all the great points scaled into insignificance after I had to do my business in Winchester followed by a 4 hour drive back with back ache from no sleep the night before.

Beautiful location but most importantly the staff are really superb. So friendly and literally catered to our every need. Definitely highly recommended.

Went to a wedding and the food was very good! Surroundings was nice and all round very happy.

We stopped for a quick lunch before heading into the traffic in Bournemouth on a Saturday. So glad we did as it was like an oasis of calm in the midst of the bank holiday weekend traffic chaos. The food was good - we had a shared platter and soup. The service was very good too. Highly recommended.
