Nice pool, but a bit on the small side. I'd rate it higher but everyone in the town seems to use this gym so, unless you go extremely early in the morning or late at night, it'll be packed. They could do with upgrading the lockers so you don't need to put £1 in... feels a bit like a leisure centre. All in all, it's nice & it'll do me for now but it's not a patch on the Bannantynes I used to go to.
This is a good gym. I do however agree with another review, they do take ages to fix things, even if it was a 5 minute job. Also another review was complaining about the music, this is not a health spar, it's a gym! People don't go to relax. All in all, a well stocked gym with pool.
Large industrial looking gym with attractive pool and lots of weights and aerobic machines. However the negatives are: not enough mats, dumbbells and steps especially at busy times. Equipment repairs take ages. Only one clock on the wall in the whole gym -it would be useful to have more to save keep checking my watch during frenetic HIIT. Very loud generic pop music. Some of the reception staff look bored and fed up.
I've been a member of the gym for just over18 months. On the whole it has been a good experience, although this is in a large measure due to my PT Steve who, like the other trainers is self employed not part of the staff and to the friendliness of most people using the gym. The facilities are good, the staff are friendly and helpful but I do have a couple of issues: when anything is broken it takes a very long time for it to be repaired and secondly there is a shortage of equipment so quite often it is not possible to use the item you want, for example there is only one set of each size of free weights and only one ViPR of each weight. Considering the facilities, the subscription is very reasonable and I would recommend the gym and Steve to anyone wanting to exercise seriously.
This gym is great, it has everything you need, yes ok the swimming pool and steam room does need a reburb but its still a good place for a qucik swim at the end of your workout. The staff are great, even at 6am they are all really friendly and welcoming.
Gym is good, pool area closes sometimes at 9pm???? Tried booking paid personal training sessions and can only book between 10.30am-5.00pm weekdays... so if you have something called a job your struggling. Staff not interested at the front desk.
Cancelled my membership and asked them to invoice me for the 2 outstanding days on £34 a month contract, ignored me and sent a demand for £59 to a debt collector. Tossers.
Mint club, amazing staff and massive variety of kit. As a swimmer very happy to have a pool in the centre of Macclesfield, major recommend. Don’t see why this place gets so much flak.
i probably should have wrote this last week but only just got round to it i recommended my friends to dw as when i went to have a look around and had alot of questions i was dealt with by a lovely smiley member of your team kimberly. she was very friendly and answered all my questions that i had after i got shown around. she was all round very helpful and seems to be a credit to your team! i will be coming back with friends! definatly have a client for life!! very friendly staff indeed nice place all round nice equpitment and very spacious too very clean and i cant wait to be in there!
