I have to say, this was one of the nicest pub meals i’ve had in a long time, the pie was gorgeous and the gravy was to die for. However, everything was overshadowed by Jess, our server. I’ve worked hospitality for 5+ years, and I have never had such amazing service. From the second we sat down to when we left, we were looked after and really cared for. Jess, you have made this whole experience 12/10.

Came for lunch on 28/02/26 and hadn’t been here in a while, but we will definitely be returning! The waitress was absolutely fantastic — she gave everyone around us the same enthusiasm and warmth that she gave to us. She was especially helpful with my friend who has allergies, making sure everything was clearly explained and safe. She was truly a bundle of joy to be served by! The atmosphere was great too. Highly recommend! I believe her name was Marie!

I come to the Duke fairly regularly as the set menu on weekdays is very good value. Being a vegetarian, I find the food a little uninspiring but for the price I’m not going to quibble! I come with a friend who has a hearing impairment so the fact that the restaurant is very quiet is a bonus.nLast week we were served by Ronnie & Jed - great service, helpful and always with a smile. Will be back in a couple of weeks

The four of us meet monthly and come to the Duke for lunch. Today 4/6, we all had the lunchtime special £16 for 2 courses. Delicious food- 2 x lite bites Sausage andn2 x veggie sausage and mash followed by 4 x chocolate melt puddings with ice cream.nFriendly warm welcome, friendly service and plenty of space and no music blasting, to be able to enjoy a relaxed lunchtime get together. We’ll be back! Thank you.

Second visit to the Duke!nLovely feel and decor to this pub/restaurant.  Sat outdoors with our dog in the clean, spacious beer garden.nPleasurable experience, lovely food, great service!
