Situated on Cowbridge High Street, The Penny Farthing Cafe & Wine Bar (formerly Farthings) is a friendly, cosy eating and meeting place.

Our aim is to provide quality, unfussy, home-made food and beverages, all served in a welcoming environment where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax. We open every weekday. Our menu offers something for everyone, from all-day breakfasts to light bites and sandwiches and of course, a choice of hearty main courses, including daily specials.

Second time I’ve had Afternoon Tea at the Penny Farthing and it has been excellent both times. Beautiful 3 tiered display and all very fresh and tasty. Always enjoy the ambience and the staff are friendly and very good service. Also, excellent value for money.
This was the best food I have eaten by far in UK. The service was excellent. Staff were respectful & attentive to our requests. The food was yummy. We were told that it would be crowded but we were lucky to get seats on arrival & then it got crowded. Worth a visit just for the service & food
Busy venue but great service and delicious sweet servings too!
4 stars simply based on table service, not to be that person, but we waited a really long time once we finished our meals for the table to be cleared and to give our dessert order.nnOTHER THAN THIS, really lovely. The southern fried chicken wrap is flavourful, the burger was also delicious but the main star are the pavlova!!!! A must try, I'd drive over an hr back just for them. Honestly, bloody delicious. So light, creamy and crunchy.nnI also loved sauce in a mini dish, nothing beats it. I hate sachets.nnStaff are great and very welcoming, it's a lovely little place with a really nice garden terrace.
Visited last summer and it was really lovely.nSuper busy but service was still friendly and fast.nManaged to get a nice little table in the courtyard.nFood was fresh and tasty and I'm only sad I didn't get a delicious looking cake for dessert.
