Situated on Cowbridge High Street, The Penny Farthing Cafe & Wine Bar (formerly Farthings) is a friendly, cosy eating and meeting place.

Our aim is to provide quality, unfussy, home-made food and beverages, all served in a welcoming environment where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax. We open every weekday. Our menu offers something for everyone, from all-day breakfasts to light bites and sandwiches and of course, a choice of hearty main courses, including daily specials.

Worst afternoon tea we have ever had. Booked to take mum as a treat for mothers day. Pot of tea was brought quickly but was all drunk before the food was brought out! Very disappointed with the quality of food. Sandwiches were ok, brownie very dry, macaroon very damp. No jam or cream for the scone!! When mentioning that we had no jam or cream on the way out was told we should have asked!!! Don't think so, it should have been served with the scones. Oh well good job we called in supermarket on the way home to get cream to eat with our scones, because they were so dry.

Love it here. Always a good atmosphere whether busy or quiet. Best thing is being greeted by the cake fridge as soon as you walk in. Yum! Really good menu selection too with plenty of choice for all tastes. Always our first port of call for breakfast on Reindeer Parade day.

Good food and good service. You can run a tab but you have to ask and leave a card when you order. Just wish they wouldn't say "Enjoy the rest of your day" but that is probably my age!

Quite a yummy breakfast and a comfortable and warm location. Staff very friendly and kind but unfortunately we had a few coffees not arrive so I can't quite give them full marks. I'm confident it was just a blip rather than an indication of how they usually manage though

Just been to this cafe and it was wonderful! The food was quick and fresh. Would reccomend their special breakfast.
