Story

The Duke Of Edinburgh is a pub tucked away between Brixton and Clapham North. It boasts one of the biggest beer gardens in south London with plenty of seating and a large bar and BBQ pit. Inside, there are plenty of comfy sofas, a pool table, Sky Sports and of course a fine range of ale and cask beer on rotation. The kitchen provides unpretentious pub classics including Sunday roasts. Located near Brixton Academy, it’s also quite handy for pre-gig drinks and dinner. In summary then, all good things you’d expect from a pub.

"Beautiful grade II listed pub in the heart of Brixton, SW9. Home to the biggest beer garden in South London. Showing all live sport with Sky Sports & BT Sport plus bangin' street food provided by London legends White Men Can't Jerk."

This is a really massive pub with great outdoor space and heating that has friendly staff and a really nice owner. We were recommended a white wine which just tastes amazing so they know what is good. Lots of different food options but unfortunately did not end up eating there. They also have good prices on drinks and happy hour as well! The outdoor venue is a lot different from indoors which creates this amazing duality of being at two different places. Would definitely come back again for some more food and wine.
Went here on a weekday so it was quite quiet, but meant we got space to enjoy an evening. The beer garden was huge and would have been amazing in summer. Ordered the halloumi meal from white people can't jerk, lots of flavour and very filling. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meals. Decent value drinks; not expensive but not the cheapest either.
I’m obsessed with this pub! Such good vibes. The inside of the pub is very plain and you would never have guessed that they had this ginormous beer garden outside! So perfect for summer. The food was delicious and I will definitely be going back
From the outside this pub looks like a bit rundown but the beer garden is spectacular. Walking outside is like going down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. A small passageway leads into an huge outdoor seating area with outdoor bar. It feels secluded but has a great, lively atmosphere.
Love this place. The garden is amazing, I love the fairy lights. There only reason it's not a 5 star is the fact we all have to leave the beautiful garden at an early time, and quite aggressively, "YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THIS AREA NOW! GO GO GO" I hate that part. Butthe rest is lovely.
This pub was so good I had to give a review. Great atmosphere inside with a beautiful massive beer garden out back. Everyone loved their food. Had the shared bbq and all of it was fantastic. Better than a lot of places in US. Highly recommend. Only thing that keeps this from 5 stars is somewhat limited cocktail and wine options. Would absolutely recommend. Friendly servers. Pool table. Darts?
I can think of some friends who would moan about the lack of real ale. And yes, it would be nice to see this. However, what makes a proper pub is more than the beer there are decent local crafty options though, it is the atmosphere, conviviality, and friendly staff, and the Duke has this. The choice of music, and not too loud and not too quiet is spot on as well.
Lovely spacious beer garden out the back, very quick bar service. I thought it was a bit odd that you’re not allowed to stand up in certain areas of the beer garden due to neighbour complaints according to the security guards.
First time going. Good selection of beers and large garden. More of a locals pub as off the main road in amongst housing, so some might feel intimidated if walking at night.
Typical pub vibe with outstanding food selection, reasonable pricing and incredible outside terrace that you must make a use of in good weather. The pub is spacious and they take bookings, so perfect for friends meet up. The food is exceptionally delicious with tasty vegetarian and meat options. Jerk chicken burger and cauliflower pops are a complete must try. No roast dinner here but an exceptional jerk twist to all your favourite pub food.
