Such a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel. The rooms are excellent value for money. We travelled up from Kent for 2 nights. The rooms are very spacious, although a little chilly  but thats probably because we are softy southerners The food is extremely good and the complimentary breakfast is spot on with lots of choice and cooked fresh. The staff are really polite and nothing is to much trouble. I must give a special mention to Chris, front of house he is really contentious, and really very good at his job.

I checked in on Sat 14th Feb after cancelling a second night at a hotel I’d stayed in the previous night in Ulverston. What a difference!nThe Duke  is comfortable and I found a very clean room with double bed, settee and dressing table and a spacious modern bathroom another radiator in there wouldn’t hurt tho’.nThe food, despite me not having the largest of appetites was excellent, both at dinner that evening and my Sunday lunch I rarely do breakfast!, not to mention excellently kept real ales.nFinally, but certainly it would be remiss of me not to mention the polite and attentive staff.

Lovely and cosy, clean and warm hotel.nJust check your towel amount before showering!! But lovely big fluffy towel so one was fine for two for one night!nnThe staff were all lovely and very friendly throughout the hotel. We would definitely stay again.nWould have liked some bottled water in the room as we are used to it now!

Deceptive from the outside as they are in the last stageof a refurbishment when I visited, but a very pleasant surprise once you are inside.  Great rooms and nicely lively bar area with friendly staff and good vibe.  Hotel car park is busy across the road so perfectly fine.  Didn't try the restaurant but based in the bar snacks and the decor I'm pretty confident it serves a nice meal.

What a brilliant place. Once again, Lancaster brewery has not disappointed. Excellent food, excellent beer and excellent company. Staff are amazing and the salt and chilli king prawns... To die for. 3 for £12.50 on the small dishes and you really can not go wrong. The Homemade salt and pepper hash browns are something else. Was full by the time I was half way through the crispy onions but could I stop eating them? No I couldn't. So good. Thank you Lancaster brewery once again for a great meal and great beer
