Story

Established for over 50 years, Duffy Motors is one of the largest independent Service centres and MOT Stations in Manchester City Centre. Originally in Salford, we have been in the city centre of Manchester since the 1980’s. Situated just off Deansgate, behind the Hilton Hotel, Duffy Motors is within easy access of most areas of Manchester city centre.

Although we specialise in MOT and regular servicing, we also offer a range of services including all major and minor mechanical and electrical repairs, computer diagnostics and body work. We have extensive experience of all makes of car.

At Duffy Motors, we are very proud to have built a loyal and happy customer base. As our reputation has grown, so has our business and the majority of our custom now comes from word of mouth and referral.

Very responsive, fast service, fair price. Didn't feel like they were trying to rip me off, despite not being very knowledgeable about cars. Fit me in the day after I rang up to book. Definitely recommend!

I couldn’t recommend any other garage more than this one!  I brought my bmw 3 series in with a really bad power/misfire issue after calling up the afternoon before, they diagnosed and fixed it within 3 hours, they was so honest about what the issue was and the price was so much cheaper than what I thought I’ll be paying.  I came here based on the good reviews on their honesty, and it’s hard to trust any sort of car mechanics/garage. I was over the moon my car was fixed so fast and so cheap.  If you’re looking for a trustworthy garage that doesn't  overcharge then I couldn’t recommend these enough.  Thank you once again

Great service!! 5 star!  Firstly I went to the garage for a routine service. It took a day and was priced accurate to the quote. The car felt tight after, great drive, all fluids topped up oil change etc... I was extremely happy.  I went back nearly a year later for an MOT, and the service again was spot on. Unfortunately I had a few issues and it didn't pass. One of the main reasons was a problem made by a previous garage who did a cowboy job by the looks of it. It wasn't a pull and replace job, it was an engineering issue witch took all day, but they were so professional and did a great job E-mailing me photos on request so I could build a case for the previous garage.  The communication all day over the phone multiple times was helpful and not a bother for them and put my mind at ease. Looked like at one point that it would take two days extending the quoted time but they went above and beyond my expectations and delivered just before they closed for the day. E-mailed me a quote on all the work that are advisories the next day with was helpful to have on record.  Would 100% recommend these guys and I'm for sure going back when the car plays up again.

Had a few cars with these guys for MOTs, servicing and fairly big repair jobs. They're fast, honest and keep you updated along the way.

Russell was very professional, friendly and helpful. I dropped my car in a day after calling up and the repair was completed on the day. After diagnosing the issue, they replaced the clutch on the alternator which was ceased. They also replaced the belt free of charge during the repair as this was apparently still squeaking after the work was completed. After some bad experiences around Manchester these are definitely a garage you can trust! Although not the cheapest expected given city centre location they are still very reasonable and I would highly recommend.

I broke down in Manchester City Centre last week and had a nightmare with my breakdown cover. I'm not from Manchester so needed to find a garage I could trust in the city centre solely relying on Google reviews. I came across Duffy Motors, read their reviews and thought - okay, this has to be the one. Honestly they have gone above and beyond in terms of being a trustworthy, friendly and transparent garage. After looking at my vehicle they didn't trail through a million things wrong with it and slap me with a huge bill. They inspected the vehicle, rang me and told me in huge detail exactly what was wrong with it and were very honest in saying that the cost of the repairs would far exceed the worth of the car. They were then so helpful to me when I was struggling to recover the vehicle. Everyone there is so friendly and make you feel safe in their hands, as taking your car to an unknown garage can be quite nerve wracking. I can't thank you enough for all the help you gave me!! I would recommend Duffy motors to anyone.

I had an MOT and Service done here and it was a very reasonable price, everyone was very friendly and trustworthy, the customer service was 5* service, and they gave me regular updates.
