Can only say it was an absolutely gorgeous meal the roast potatoes were to die 4 on our sunday cavery will b going again real soon .
Family lunch on Sunday. Greeted warmly and taken to our table. Everywhere was clean and tidy - even though they were busy. Ordered at the bar from the menu carvery and 'pub food' options. Meals all arrived looking good - everyone enjoyed their choice very much. Staff were all pleasant and efficient. I would certainly go again.
Attended for the first time ever on 17/11/22 at 1700 For Dinner. I had the Carvery, partner had Chicken & Chorizo Pasta. Both meals hot and fresh. Service was very good. Cannot fault the place - will definitely return in the near future. Great to see a pub which provides good fresh food, at a reasonable price where the service is good! Pleasant staff. My first visit in over a year, as now live abroad but ordered chicken fajitas, after a while get informed no wraps would I accept pitta bread, said yes When it came it was hard and very tough to cut, was not that pleasant at all. These things happen but when I informed the staff politely they said they would inform the chef. No come back, no apology no anything at all, which is my Main disappointment. Seems they just didn't care!
Went here on Saturday after visiting the zoo as a carvery virgin , the pub was clean, tidy staff were absolutely awesome! They were patient kind and very informative. Extremely professional and efficient also very very helpful. Excellent vibes in general. The carvery was beautiful! Everything tasted delicious! Generous portions too! Desert was also beautiful, presented so well and aesthetically pleasing to the eye! Will be going here again! Would highly recommend! Thank you for the positive first time experience
The last couple of times I've been for breakfast, there has been no cutlery available and tables not being cleaned frequently enough. We ended up having to sit at a dirty table and move the empty plates from previous customers ourselves also ended up putting butter on our toast with a fork as no knives were available, not many staff walking about for a busy Saturday morning either. Girl behind the breakfast station was nice enough but service was extremely slow meaning that when we got our food back to our table it was cold. Ordered vegetarian sausages at the bar as soon as we walked in, by the time they were delivered nearly 45 minutes later, we'd all eaten our food including me, so the sausages could have done with being a bit quicker. I know it was busy, bit if people come in to eat together then they expect to eat together, not one person finished their food before the other person even has theirs in front of them. This i think needs looking at.
We went for a breakfast, which wasn't too bad, but there was no toilet for the disabled in the main pub. I had to push my Dad up a steep drive to the function room, where we then had to get up 2 steep ramps before getting to the door where we were met by a lady who opened the doors and when we got to the toilet it was very tight. This is a disgrace for modern times. There needs to be a toilet in the pub.
We were attending a funeral and we and our cousins met here for a meal in the evening. We chose the carvery, which was absolutely delicious. We didn't even need a pudding.But we see they done a all uou could eat breakfast. The following morning, before the funeral, my husband and I went back and had full English as we were staying across the road, We did find that it would of been better to of gone earlier as the fried bread was hard and eggs were over done but all in all we enjoyed it and would go back again
Your typical pub furniture and decor with a nice extra twist of "the peaky blinders" full wall feature in the male toilets. Lovely, chatty and helpful staff. Carvery was delicious. Followed by reasonably priced deserts. Well worth dropping in if you are near.
Very friendly, helpful staff, nothing is to much trouble. Booked a party for 24 guests for a carvery and it was excellent. Food was great, everyone had a good time highly recommended.
