I enjoyed the good here.. sat outside a ms the weather was warm and inside seemed overcrowded and stuffy. Good served up till 3 If I remember correctly so got there just in time. I ordered the garlic mushrooms to start - they were done really nice... I enjoyed the sauce and the bread that came with them to dip in excess sauce was handy and super soft and fresh. Mushrooms were nice and big.. very tasty. I hear the double lamb burger for main.. it was fine.. I have had better... but it wasn't terrible. There chips are crispy and chunky, couldn't eat them all as quite a bit portion. Kids had pizza and chips. The main issue I had was the lack of access, I had a puschair but no ramp, so had to bring down stairs myself.... luckily someone helped when I was coming out. Other than that no other issues... staff seemed nice enough.
An amazing little gem, I've heard many people say this place was good but I never gave it a chance. What a mistake that was, I wish I would have given them a chance. On entry, it was a true British pub as the decor is exactly that, with Christmas decorations as it tis the season. The staff were very welcoming and you could tell they knew there customers, especially the regulars as they had some pleasant banter, which was delightful. The prices on the menu was very fair, as it wasn't too expensive or nor to cheap, plus the prices are reflected in the quality of food as it was very good. The food was outstanding and the best reason to visit. I ordered the pie of the day which was beef and mushrooms and my wife ordered the chicken and djion mustard sauce. It took around 15 - 20 minutes which was perfect time to nice chat. The pie was presented beautifully, the puff pastry was tasty, whilst it exploded into flakes but I found this quite fun. The chips was nice and chrispy, I would have liked a few more but then again I can pack them away. The real prize was the filling and it has good quality meat, it was soo tender and it complemented to sauce. I did not get to try the wife's meal but I know it was good because as I tried to get a bit, she threatened me with her knife. The presentation was beautiful. The food was that good we even had dessert and it was also beautiful. I actually cannot fault this pub and they have everything right. Tldr - it's a really good pub
Lovely surroundings with very friendly staff. Food is delicious. Extremely generous portions. Looking forward to visiting again soon
4 of us went for lunch today, ideal sized meals for smaller appetites at £6. Very tasty and well cooked. Table service was excellent. Larger meals looked great too will lovely selection to suit all tastes. Will be returning regularly, already booked for 2weeks time
The food was awful, no flavour and tough. And expensive for what it was. Access to the place was not great as you have to go down about 5-6 steep steps. Only reason it's 2 stars instead of 1 is the staff member that served us was nice and sweet. But would definitely never go back
Really friendly staff, very homely, good price. Excellent food. Well deserving of 5 stars
Nice food lovely staff, can't fault it fpr a pleasant meal.
The photos are from December, enjoyed 3 great meals, each with a different friend that I had brought to see the amazing lights. Today though, I had been working around the corner at my daughter's so I crept in around 5 to see if there was any chance of a Sunday lunch. No beef left but I still had a choice of three meats, I had a generous helping of pork with the largest selection of vegetables I've ever had. Swede mash, roast parsnip, green beans, carrots, cauliflower, sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, roast potato, mashed potato and boiled potato! There was such a selection that there was just enough of each so as not to overload. All were cooked to perfection, nothing soggy...... fabulous food and at a very reasonable price. Not sure of the price, but this fabulous lunch, a pint of beer and a drink for the delightful landlady came to £12.80. The Summer House never fails to deliver on quality or service. Friendly management and staff.
Asked for steak medium rare. Got it medium well. Staff extremely rude. Can't even walk out with a cigarette in my hand. Be better off visiting North Korea.
Went for lunch today. Absolutely gorgeous food and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the Bailey's cheesecake. The waitess was so friendly and attentive. Absolutely recommend this pub.
