Ok, so despite all the negative reviews the food is actually not that bad. The pizza was fine, a touch undercooked, but not a failure. Scampi were cooked well, chips were probably on the light cooked side, but I could have asked for crispy... This is the last frontier of food in Drumnadrochit and if you’re expecting Michelin star cuisine you might be disappointed. I am far from being a specialist on takeaways and if you dying to rate this one on your journey to healthy diet of fry-ups, perhaps you should save yourself the bother.
No. Just no Edit /Update : OK over a year ago this take away was RANK, DIRE, TERRIBLE. Now it seems a lot better. New Owner and his wife are very friendly and always happy to try and accommodate. For a village chippy they aren't bad and seem to be trying their best at the moment.
Honestly as I read the reviews I was doubting about my fish and chips I had just ordered. It wasn’t the best fish and chips of my life nevertheless it filled up my tummy in a nice way. The kitchen looked pretty clean and overall we had a nice meal with my family. If you have no where else to go and need a decent fish and chips stop here.
Had two takeaways from here over the course of a week and one mini snack deep fried mars bar. Both meals were excellent, fish really tasty and great batter, haggis excellent, burger and pizza tasty and filling. It took a few days to pluck up courage to have a deep fried mars bar when is Scotland etc tasted a lot better than it sounds and looks - go for it! Staff really friendly, helpful and if a mistake made, corrected as quick as possible. Excellent value for money.

Go there if you want to get sick. I was in Scotland on vacation and this city was my first stop. It was kind of late and this place was the only one that was opened. I never got a good impression of the place; it looked kind of dirty and the employees didn't seem to have the best hygienic standards... but anyway, I'm pretty flexible so I didn't think more about it. I tried the burger and it was awful. Believe me, I have eaten bad burgers, but this thing was just pretty bad. I couldn't even finish it. At night, I started feeling bad. First with nausea and then vomits. Since then, it has been more than a week with my stomach being so so, including overall weakness, muscle pain... Two days ago symptoms got much worse. I'm not going to go into details, but I was diagnosed with a bad gastroenteritis after seeing a doctor. If you want to stay healthy, go to the grocery store that is next to it, and buy some decent food there. Otherwise you may regret later like I did and I'm still doing...
Entirely average, can be hit and miss... sometimes chips are good....most times not. Fish again is hit and miss......out of three fish suppers over last two weeks... one was ok....the other two the fish was not the best....brown meat and a fishy smell.....so fish isn't fresh.... unless you're lucky enough to use them just as they've got new fish in. They do lots off stuff.... none of it worth mentioning.....drum takeaway is an average place that will fill a whole if you can't be arsed cooking.
Oh hell no! Don't say I didn't warn you.. Dodgy service and terrible food. We were desperate as nothing else was open in the area, reluctantly ordered veggie burgers and chips. The owner wasn't aware of what his food actually contained and brought out the frozen package from the freezer to check the ingredients. What we were served in no way resembled what was illustrated on the menu. They didn't have any cheese or salad for the burgers. Sitting in the car, munching on this tasteless excuse for 'food' was not an experience I would like to repeat in a hurry. To be honest I'm very surprised these guys are still in business. If any other take away were to open in the area the demise of 'drum takeaway' would be as easy as stealing candy from a baby. Not rocket science.
After placing our order to a gentleman who didn't seem to want our custom, he proceeded to tell us it would be 10 minutes for our 3 deep fried meals. 25 minutes later we were finally presented with the wrong order and things missing from it. Once this had been reluctantly resolved we left for our accommodation. Upon arriving we noted he had not given us plastic cutlery. Better places to eat.
Without any doubt the worst lunch I have ever had in my whole life. Ordered a donner kebab, and what I was given is something that looked like sliced dog's food. Couldn't eat anything of that, it all ended in the trash... However my gf ordered chicken kebab that was not so bad, although it did not look like a regular kebab.
