This castle is well worth a visit when you're in Dublin! You can book a tour with them, just phone the phone number on the entrance of the gate. This is the only castle in Ireland with a moat around it, with water from the Camac. Our tour guide Eileen was wonderful and did an excellent job by telling us Drimnagh castle's story in a really entertaining and engaging way. Lovely people who work here, mainly run by volunteers who really have a heart for this beautiful castle and you can really see this on how well the castle and the garden is maintained. Wonderful tour that is definitely worth it with all information that is being told and shown!
Amazing place, very peaceful and traditional. Nice hosts. It's worth visiting.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
One of the most amazing castles and stories in Ireland. The restoration project is simply breathtaking. The garden and surrounding grounds are just stunning. This is a true treasure in the middle of the city wrapped in a tragic love story. This should be a must visit! Highly recommend!
Beautiful moated castle hidden away behind schools and housing. The great Hall is something to behold and the gardens are beautifully composed. You can do building skills workshops like dry stone walling sometimes.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
This was a great stop for our group while in Dublin. Our tour guide was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the castle, its history, and the restoration process. She kept our group of 17 college students engaged. While off the beaten path, it's not hard to get there from the Luas. If you're looking for Irish history without the crowds, add this to your Dublin itinerary.
Delightfully restored Norman castle, with functional moat, though not open right now to walk-in visitors group tours accommodated by phone.
The guided tour was fantastic and the tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The castle itself was amazing and as well as the garden behind it.
We didn't make an appointment for a tour, just stopped by on a whim and walked around the outside. It was so lovely!
