This place was recommended by the bartender at our hotel who informed us we should get there early because it's so popular. We got there after 6 however. We waited an hour which was fine. We got cocktails at the bar and walked to the pier and watched the high tide. Then returned for another round. The bartender was wonderful, attentive, and made amazing drinks. We got the grilled shrimp with squash casserole, and fried okra; and the stuffed flounder with macaroni and collards. EVERYTHING WAS TOP TIER! The squash casserole was the best I've ever had other than my mother's and they gave me the recipe card. The entire staff was so friendly. The dining experience was amazing. If we visit Jekyll Island again this is the one place we will DEFINITELY return to.
Nice little place the locals sure seem to love. I was nearly steamrolled by a mob of senior citizens when the doors opened at 5 pm, so I knew we were in the right spot. That said, the food was pretty good. Definitely, the best food we have had during our time on Jekyll Island. Our server was awesome and super friendly as well. Amazing peach cobbler to finish our meal.
Wow! What a wonderful experience! Even though we had to wait an hour and 20 minutes to be seated, we met some lovely people who recommended the rum punch for a drink. I got one and enjoyed it which made the wait go by a little faster. Once we were seated, our orders were promptly taken. I enjoyed the stuffed collard greens and absolutely loved the squash casserole! Definitely get the squash casserole when you’re there, you won’t regret it. The fried green tomatoes weren’t bad either. My friend got the stuffed flounder with Mac n cheese and okra and really enjoyed her food too. Then the lovely people we met earlier ended up picking up our tab if you end up reading this thanks again so much! We really appreciated it! : and Guiedo the host was super friendly and gave us a breakfast recommendation for our stay here. We just had such a wonderful experience here with real southern hospitality! We will be back when back in the area!
We love Jekyll Island, and we really love seafood! The Driftwood Bistro answered the call for us. They had delicious wild caught Ga shrimp, and the stuffed flounder was amazing! They also have a full bar with lots of yummy specialty drinks. I can’t recommend the Bistro enough!Dine in: Yes
Outstanding seafood with exceptional sides. The squash casserole and the fried okra are absolute musts. Got excellent service at the bar as we did not want to wait an hour and a half right at 5:00 when they opened. This did not diminish the experience in any way. The food was so good!Food: 5/5
Best meal we have had on the island so far. I ordered stuffed flounder with fried okra and cabbage. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Best fried okra I have ever had and I have had a lot. Everything was awesome!
Service and food was amazing! I liked the half order option and it didn't take a long time for food to come out. Everything was hot and fresh, seasoned well and nice portions. Can't wait to go next time I'm on the island. Vegetarian options: Many options Parking: Easy
I'd say it was kid friendly, but if your child elbows his drink off don't expect the waitress to be pleased. Another one was super friendly with us and my child even brought him something to snack on while he waited for his food. The food is super delicious I showed my shrimp cakes off Kid-friendliness: Some of the staff will cater to your child some ehh not so much.
Amazing Food!!! Worth the wait. Gotta get the bread pudding with added ice cream. Greg was one of the best servers we've ever had. Very efficient, friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Highly recommend!
This place is the sleeper-pick on Jekyll Island. This place is old school and they do not take reservations. Get there at least a half hour before they open or you could face a wait 1 hour plus. The food is probably some of the best in the area. The restaurant itself isn’t too fancy, but it really has that southern homey feel. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was second to none. I’ve never seen a waitstaff work so efficiently with great attitudes and a real sense of pride in the place. Can’t say enough good things about this place; looking forward to returning!
