Why is it so difficult to get an appointment? I was told to call at 12pm, it took 40 minutes to get through and then was informed sorry no appointments left' was told to call back at 3pm which I did and was informed 'sorry no appointments left' call back tomorrow at 8am when we will know if we have appointments available. Apparantly the surgery will have 30-40 appointments available appointments tomorrow but you cannot book the day before. Am I being unreasonable? The system needs to change to help patients like me!!!!! I will be writing to GMC.
Rang to make an appointment for my mum at the advice of the doctor whom she saw 2 weeks ago and was told she has to see a Gp first and the next available appointment is in a months time! Absolutely shocking despite the government saying patients will not be waiting for more than 2 weeks for a routine appointment. Being a healthcare professional myself the situation with GP appointments is disgraceful. No other health care sector has this issue, you can get in to see every other professional except GPs. It was bad enough they shut their doors during covid and now they wont even see patients. I have no idea how they can justify this whereas A&E departments are full with patients who have no choice but to go there after being failed by GPs. Used to be a good practice but now probably one of the worst in Blackburn. Receptionists have no sympathy and will do nothing to help.
Impossible to get an appointment and even when you get one the doctors are rude.
