Very sad I can't put 0 stars. The staff is friendly and nice in general. Booking an appointment happens only if you phone 111 and get referred. No way you can go through to the 8 am booking line. eConsults don't get responded to. Every time I have an issue I get prescribed very hard painkillers before any tests are done. My partner and father-in-law get seen almost immediately 90 percent of the time. I and my mother-in-law can't say we had the same treatment. We are all changing GPs for these reasons. It is disappointing, especially, when people are going there to seek help...
Worst place ever, unfortunately can't put 0 stars. It's impossible to see a doctor, cause it takes forever to get true to ask for a apontment. After wqutung 20 min on the phone, all you will hear is that there are no appointments left, a havent seen a doctor over there, although i'm with them 8 years. If i do get a appointments after long arguments, it would be in Cleavdon, Congsbery or Glasgow. Basically there are no chances to get a appointments.
A great shame that there are so few alternative choices of medical practice locally and now in Bristol. Far too large now and not enough staff. Time to stop expanding and listen to your existing patients who were promised being part of a larger medical group would be an improvement. For whatever reason this hasn`t worked. Less than one star.
They have always looked after myself and my son wonderfully. There's a couple of GPs that are a bit dismissive but the rest are absolute gold. This place actually takes mental health seriously as well as physical. After an absolute awful experience with another surgery, I am so glad to be registered with this practice.
After waiting for at least 30 minutes after my appointment time, I spoke to the dr for less than 10 minutes I started to tell her that I was worried about something more important and she just shut me down and told me that I would have to make another appointment for that, because it wasn’t fair on other patients, I told her that I was really worried about about it but she just refused to listen, so I went to make another appointment and was told that my best bet is too come in at 8 o’clock in the morning or do an online request, I tried to do that but couldn’t, so I went back to the surgery to explain that I couldn’t access the site and was given a form to fill in which I did and was told that I would get a call within 72 hours but that would start from Monday !! because to them we are all well at the weekend!! also whilst in the waiting room an elderly man asked if he could make an appointment for his wife with a certain dr and the receptionist was really dismissive of him and basically said he would have to take his chances. I dread to think how many people without access to the internet and with no transport are dying because they can’t see a doctor, which may sound a little dramatic but it’s happening all the time. I’m disgusted with my treatment today and also saddened by what is happening in the NHS We are real people and not robots and deserve to be treated like people
As a practice, St. Georges is in good condition, well maintained and with plenty of parking outside. Very accessible. What lets this down as per many other reviews is that it's part of Mendip Vale, which is being stretched beyond its means. This applies to all Mendip Vale practices. Same day appointments are hard to get and you can expect to sit on the phone for an hour in the morning, waiting to speak to a receptionist. Otherwise, you can expect to speak to a GP in three to four weeks. Some other complaints are a result the Tory tyranny depriving the NHS of its means to offer basic services and convenience. Those doctors I have met and spoken to over the phone have been very kind, approachable and considerate. It is not the staff's fault for any shortcomings with Mendip Vale. This, sadly, is part of life under a far right Tory Britain. Why local people vote them in each time, I really do not know!!
Rubbish surgery. Now trying to make you change surgeries because you don't live in the right area of Weston. But yet they made my daughter and mrs a patient 2 months ago.....The team on the end of the phone isn't much kop either.
Staff are always friendly and courteous but it's probably easier to get an appointment with PM Boris Johnson than it is with Mendip Vale doctors. Phones open at 8.00 am sharp and after about 40 redials ended up in position 19 in a waiting queue. After 38 minutes since starting the process eventually spoke to a nice lady saying all allocations had been taken for the day. Was then referred to a Pharmacy Consultation who took one look at my daughters infection and said she needed to see a GP. Pharmacy also tried to contact Mendip Vale while I was there but couldn't get through. This keeps happening at this Medical Practice and they clearly cannot cope since closing nearby Riverbank Medical Centre and merging. This was not as promised to local residents at the time of merging. We were to expect an improved level of service with better resources. I appreciate everyone is under pressure and I am grateful for the NHS but the system for local GP appointments is a complete disaster.
I would give this place ZERO stars but have not because of reason stated at end of this review. Rarely see a doctor but the one I have seen, Dr Markkenan is fantastic, and she has left ! Marvellous !! all the nursing staff are as well, the younger receptionists are awful, couple of the older ones are good, best of luck getting through on phone, also if you go in INSIST the receptionist listens to you, 3 times now they haven't booked me in for what I needed, "no it's all on the screen"...no it isn't, often mess up prescriptions, although lately they have said they haven't received prescription request from my online pharmacy and pharmacy says they have emailed request multiple times ! Umm HELLO MY HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR PATHETIC BLAME GAME..SORT IT OUT, don't forget you have rights for although the Tories have allowed the partners/Owners of this group in through the back door heading for full privatisation...they do for now have to treat you with respect and not just treat you on how much money they can generate from you. !! Stars are for the nursing staff a couple of the doctors and the 2 ladies in reception that are not rude condescending ignorant or just do not care !! Stop privatisation of the NHS Keep the thieving Tory liars out. Have a nice day
I have spent a very large amount of time in the last three days trying to get my prescription - the pharmacy sent it over a week ago, plus now sent two more urgent requests. Held on yesterday for 37 minutes, finally to be greeted by a very highly strung woman who told me that my prescription was 'with the doctor waiting to be signed', when I asked her politely what that meant, she told me to stop complaining and moaning at her!! I told her politely that I wasn't complaining or moaning, I was just concerned that I had two days left of my blood pressure tablets and this was making me anxious - she said that if I wanted to complain she would give me details - I didn't want to, but I do now! Currently hanging on 11 minutes and counting! - to see if anyone else can give me an update. My original question was should I be requesting my prescription earlier - I still have not gleaned that information. However, from our 'conversation' I understood that the woman I spoke to was the "Only One" taking calls, and there should have been ten other people taking calls, I understood that they have over 1,000 emails to get through, and I understood that they were a week behind - none of which really helped me, but she may have felt better having explained that to me. This morning, I decided to try again, and I spoke to a lovely lady, Denise, and she kindly empathised and arranged a phone consultation. Thank you Denise. Sorry, I had to give one star because it has been quite stressful sorting this out
