Convenient location just off M4 motorway. Large spacious room junior suite, comfortable beds, very clean, spacious bathroom, dining table, fridge, tea/coffee facilities along with Nesspresso machine & pods and two TVs to entertain our family! Scrumptious breakfast served with hot, crispy hash browns and veggies sausages along with a selection of continental breakfast items made us to feel the best hotel breakfast we had in any of our hotel stays in 2022. Service from staff was amazing and provided all benefits of Hilton Honors elite status without asking. We all loved the warm welcome cookies. They made our stay great and surely Hilton Double Tree on our list for stays in 2023 and beyond!
Place looks nice on arrival and the foyer is smart and up market. Staff were very polite and after checking in I was given a warm cookie which was a nice touch. The room was clean and smart and the shower was good except for going hot to cold constantly. I tried the wellness area gym and was underwhelmed to say the least, it was just a room that had been converted with basic equiptment, luckily I was the only one in there and managed to complete a routine using the cables. Now the bit that blew me away..... the restaurant! I was extremely impressed, the food was so good and came to the table piping hot, the choices on offer for the cost by far exceeded my expectations and the staff looked really smart and were so polite. If you go just for the food you will leave happy.
Night staff were horrid barring one woman who was lovely. Had a meal voucher with my stay which was on the system but the man who I spoke to refused to accept it and was rather rude until the nice woman said to him it was valid. I get he might not know but why argue instead of just asking and finding out? Bathroom wasn't clean and sheets looked like they had already been used but I was there for less than 12 hours so whatever. The breakfast staff in the restaurant were delightful, really nice women
I was a bit worried when viewing those negative google reviews. But I had very positive experience during my stay during 2023 Easter holiday. The receptionist provided excellent service including registering my car plate number, sending food menu to my room, and etc. As I’m having the gold membership and they have prepared to upgrade my room before my arrival. The bed is bit old sometime makes some noise but overall experience is very good. Food & drinks: Very good food!
Stay was disappointing due to 2 issues. 1 I kept getting woke up by noise of a security guard talking on a phone or radio walking past my door at intervals through the night. 2 I was disgusted to received a £100 parking fine letter. When I called the hotel they were rude in resolving the matter stating that I didn't register my car although if they had checked my booking first which they didn't it would show that it was registered. The lady I talked to just kept saying 'you didn't register your car'. I was also told that there were signs everywhere and I should have seen them I didn't. It seemed that they could not be bothered resolving the issue until they finally cancelled the parking fine on my word that I stayed but they should have took my booking no to avoid going round in circles on the phone and the frustration. Room was clean, staff were friendly & efficient but I won't be going back back based on the bad experiences I had.
Great stay at Doubletree Swindon. Excellent food, buffet style and good choices. Special thanks to the amazing Restaurant staff who worked so hard but always with a smile. Room 332 would have got 5 stars but became hot overnight and we were unable to open window for ventilation as bolted shut and the bed was very creaky.Rooms: 3/5
Do not stay at this hotel if you value a good nights sleep. Sadly this hotel has become overrun with refugees that don’t understand how to be quiet and respectful to guests, loud banging and tv on max volume till 2.30am in the morning. They also have children running around the corridors and outside so be careful of your valuables in your car as I caught a kid looking in my car.
I had a positive thing to say about this hotel but an experience upon checking out has left me no choice but to write this review. Anyone staying or looking to stay here in future please take care of your valuables however small or large. There are some dishonest staff who work here and management would never they are wrong as they are so worried about their ‘Hilton’ reputation!
I stay in hotels 35-40 weeks of the year for events and have done for the past 7 years the mattress in this hotel was by far the worst from any hotel brand. Springs sticking up and so noisy. As we arrived late and was only for one night we just slept on top of the duvet as the air conditioning is universally set either hot or cold, that night I drew the hot setting. I did tell the lady on reception but she showed as much interest as my 13 year old when I tell her to do homework and continued to text on her phone. Whilst I do recommend the Hilton brand and so far all the other hotels don’t stay at Swindon
Location - Excellent Rooms - Lovely, tidy & spacious. Beds - So comfortable. Located beside a Costa & Beefeater. Would highly recommend & go back. Massive thanks to the Breakfast staff who were lovely.
