Lovely campsite. Stayed here in a touring caravan, the access from the main road is great, and there was a friendly and helpful greating when we arrived. The grass pitch was fab, though the nearby main road can be noisy in the day time, but does quieten down at night. Showers and toilets are basic, but clean and functional. The showers do take some time to warm up, and the water pressure is a bit rubbish at peak times. Could do with some dog bins, and a security barrier would be a welcome addition, due to the proximity to the main road. The site info says there’s WiFi, but neither my wife or I could connect, but this wasn’t an issue as we could pick up 4g mobile on our phones. I wasn’t impressed when the pitch next to us erected a large tent next to their caravan and awning, this only left a 2 meter gap between the tent and our caravan, I’m sure by law it has to be minimum 3 metres. This is a site I would recommend, though I would expect better facilities for the £35 per night fees.
Really impressed with this campsite. We camped near the river where they have their inbuilt firepit, bbq stand and a picnic bench next to the pitches. So nice and tranquil. The facilities are extremely clean and the showers are free! Mrs Evans and Bethan are fab hosts too, super friendly and accommodating. Would 100% recommend this campsite. Diolch yn fawr

We love this site - peaceful, lovely large flat pitches, great facilities always clean, with campfires on the riverbank pitches and a river that the kids love to play in as do we!. Once again we spent a gorgeous, relaxing Easter weekend there - Mair was as welcoming and helpful as ever. Lovely to be back in the area, especially a return visit to beautiful Caerau Gardens at Sarnau fabulous cake. The nearby Cross Foxes was back on form for both food and service.
We booked for two nights 15th-17th April. TWO pitches with electric hookup on the river. We got a request from the people running this place to move on to one pitch with both of our tents etc. We obliged to help out. What we didn't realise is that they still wanted to charge us the exact same price for one electric hook up and one pitch that we are squashed onto. We went up and politely explained that given that we have half of what we have paid for then we should get a refund for what we booked. The woman I think co owner with sister said that she could do nothing about it. So we have paid almost £200 for two nights one pitch and then the site will be charging another person another £200 for the pitch that we have given up. Leaving them almost £300 up. We got told that we were on a certain pitch and also got moved to pitch 4 instead but the woman had claimed she had asked us to move onto the one pitch as she didn't have two together and "couldn't move pitches around". The woman then said "what do you want? Money? And said all I can give you is £20" she then took £30 out of the till when I said I'm unhappy with the double charging and said that's all she could do as they "charge per person". After speaking to some other people who have camped here previously they have said that they've booked two pitches in the past to then get here and realised their second pitch has then been sold on. It appears this is a common occurrence to rip people off. The woman even admitted that we had paid for 2x hookups and 2x pitches on the website so the fact that she doesn't think a refund for the second is acceptable is beyond me. After the year everyone has had I wouldn't expect to be getting ripped off when trying to take the kids away. Will avoid from now on and go to a campsite with better customer service.
Flat pitch. Clean facilities. Quiet location but near amenities/attractions. Good for stargazing. WiFi was not working this was not mentioned on their website. The online system allows you to pay for the first night of your stay but not the full duration!
We had a fantastic family weekend at this site, the pitches are spacious and the location idyllic. The staff and people on site were really friendly. Great service, beautiful site. Perfect for mountain biking at coed y brenin...and a dip in the river on site.
Quite a lovely place to camp at. Nicely organized, clean, all the facilities you need and the people taking care of it are really nice and attentive. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is that, from my point of view, there isn't much to do. But it is definitely a great place to camp at.
Again I had a wonderful week here. This time I returned with the wife who's not really a tent camper and after 6 nights, loved it too. We will deffo return next season - with the youngsters too Thanx Mair, Bethan and all the other staff too. Wonderful as usual
Friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Will return to this site in the future. Clean quiet and in a good position for many local activities. Hence my 5 star rating ...A score not commonly given by me. p.s. a bike friendly site too ! One year later 2022: The site is still one of my favourites. It is a fantastic base for cycling expeditions...1. Barmouth along Mawdach Estuary Route and 2. Trip of a lifetime up to The Cregennan Lakes and the fastest, scariest most exciting trip down to Arthogg....and plenty more.
