Nice park, tidy and very little litter; plantings well maintained but there’s no longer a cafe. Nearest seems to be in Asda 1/2 a mile away. Very limited parking but outside on the road is OK.nThere is a big old fashioned greenhouse which seems to run horticulture courses for people with additional needs & children’s activities.nSuggest you check if interested with Kirklees Council website, it’s probably run by volunteers.
Attended the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club show at the park. The weather held out and there was an abundance of classic cars on show.nnThough the event doesn’t have its own listing, the park was more than suitable for hosting!nnNo fees for entry and it offered a lot of classic car enthusiasts the opportunity to wow the public with their rebuilt, tuned, restored vehicles.nnThere wasn’t much variation outside of the European domestic market of vehicles - though there was a lot of Ford Cortinas!
We had a nice time at the park but it requires a lot of work to bring it back to its best.nnThe lake water is disgusting and run down looking.nnThe kids playground needs a lot of repairs. There is exposed rock directly under the swings which is incredibly dangerous
This park is so well kept and lovely to walk round. It has tennis courts and a play area for children. Also has various exercise equipmentnThe volunteers here are a credit to the park and keep the gardens beautiful
A wonderful park, always clean and tidy. The wild flower garden is beautiful and a great place to sit and relax.nIt's a shame that the museum and café no longer open though. Toilet facilities are available but not always open and parking can be a problem at busy times.nnWheelchair friendly
