Lovely park for the kids! Only downfall is the amount of off-lead dogs running around. A little girl got knocked over by an off-lead dog on Sunday. Maybe there should be an enclosed dog area where they can run free without the worry of a child getting hurt. The playground is lovely, and the trees and plants are beautiful, and attractive to wildlife, which is nice to see. The park keepers obviously work hard and have pride in their jobs.
Lovely park, surprisingly big so you can do a good loop around with the dog. Good play area as well for kids.
This park is a superb park. We drive over from Kirkby to bring the dogs. Shame that the council basically leave it to the volunteers who are so friendly and hardworking.
I feel grateful for having this lovely Victorian park within walking distance of home. I've especially appreciated it during the lockdown, when I can go & walk amongst the trees & listen to the birds singing. I know the park isn't like it was in its heyday but I'm just thankful for the space it offers.
It's a nice big Park with a lot of character and history too. Ideal place to walk your dog in safety with loads of responsible dog owners who say Hi. It has an old style bandstand, playground for the kids, even a small footy pitch. Loads of grey squirrels too.
Beautiful victorian park with children's play area, basketball courts, bowels club, very stunning mature grounds, even has original band stand. Lovingly maintained by local volunteers.
Great Park with lots for the kids. Free junior parkrun for the kids on a Sunday morning at 9am too. Playground: Decent amount of different things for the kids. Basketball and football cages, climbing frames and mini obstacle course type things. Restrooms: No public toilets available Dog-friendliness: Signposted dogs on leads and no dogs areas.
Had a great afternoon out and about in Dery Park yesterday with six of our Grand children and met up with one more with is children . There is plenty to do in the park places to sit and play swings roundabouts and climbing frames kids had a brilliant time
Discovered this beautiful and majestic Park a few years ago, purely by being redirected by roadworks. For once I was glad of the diversion!! It is a superb example of historic planning and attention to detail. Added with brilliant play areas for children of differing age groups and enclosed multi sports pitches. Only misses out by lack of little cafe and toilets but pack a picnic and can enjoy a free and brilliant family day out with kids, or just walk around observing the memorials and history of a stunning park!
