They are v thorough and fair. They really do care about doing a good job and looking after their customers! They cleaned out all the carbon treacle from the pipework after my EGR was replaced on recall by a main dealer who had neglected to do so. DCM also sorted out my alternator for a reasonable price, unlike the main dealer who wanted £2k to replace it! We have been amazed at their care and attention. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks
DCM Autocentres in Shaftesbury is by far the worst garage I’ve ever dealt with, and unfortunately, I’ve had to use them multiple times because other local garages are usually overbooked. Every visit has been a nightmare. They seem to overcharge for everything and have a habit of ‘finding’ additional problems every time you go in – sometimes they even make issues up, only to hold your car until you agree to their inflated prices.nnMost recently, I went in for an MOT. They charged £49.50, whereas other garages in Shaftesbury charge £40. They failed my MOT due to worn brake pads, but given my history with them, I wasn’t convinced. I took my car to my regular garage, and while my pads were worn, they were nowhere near the legal limit. I got them replaced for half the price DCM quoted. When I called DCM to book a retest, they wanted another £20 – a legal charge, sure, but no other garage has ever charged me for an MOT retest before. It’s not about the money, but the complete lack of customer service and fairness.nnA previous experience was even worse. I brought my 3 Series in for a simple wheel alignment, and they ended up calling me every half hour to add hundreds of pounds to the bill. By the time they finished, it was close to £700. They’ve pulled similar stunts on my Lexus in the past, and back then, my company was covering maintenance costs, so I let it go. But after years of dealing with DCM, I’m convinced they’re more con artists than mechanics.nnAvoid DCM Autocentres if you value your time, money, and car. This is the most untrustworthy garage I’ve ever come across.nnUPDATE: After posting this review, I received a response from DCM Autocentres claiming that my car was “poorly maintained” and that I was “screaming” at their receptionist – a clear exaggeration and unprofessional attempt to shift blame.nnFor the record, my car is regularly maintained by a trusted mechanic. I came to DCM expecting straightforward service but consistently left with unexpected costs and additional issues that only seemed to appear during my visits to them.nnRegarding the MOT, they quoted a significantly higher price for brake pads than my regular garage ultimately charged. The £20 retest fee is within their rights, but I’ve never been charged this at any other local garage. This isn’t about the money but rather about transparency and fairness, which I believe DCM lacks.nnDCM’s response doesn’t change my experience. I encourage anyone reading to consider this when choosing a garage. My experience with DCM has left me questioning their customer service and trustworthiness.
I found I had a slow puncture and contacted DCM at 17.15 on a Friday afternoon to see if they could help me, was waiting for them to say no due to closing time is at 18.00. The receptionist was very helpful and said to come straight away to see if they could help. On arrival very helpful and was seen straight away, mechanic took the car to have a look. My daughter and I was offered drinks and snacks, which is a lovely gesture. We was kept informed of what was happening and thankfully it could be repaired. Was all done within the half hour. Very pleased with the service, would highly recommend, thank you
DCM went above and beyond for me and I will not go anywhere else for car maintenance again. Super friendly lovely knowledgeable staff. Even better they don't rip you off. Thanks for everything
I recently had cause to get my car wheels checked for alignment following a small collision by a careless driver. The reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and I was offered a drink while I waited. Once done I wondered if they would be able to scan the results and email them directly to the insurance company for me, as at my age I find these things difficult especially when digital files are not in the right format. Both the receptionist and the engineer couldn’t have been more helpful. I felt quite embarrassed but they completely understood and were extremely understanding. Because of my experience I would highly recommend this garage.
