Outstanding service. All staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Kind, understanding staff who bent over backwards to help. Was allowed to try several instruments despite covid issues. Practice room was brilliant and well setup for acoustics and lighting. Great range of instruments and accessories. Came away very happy. Recommend calling or emailing first with any questions before visiting as they can be busy and can order in out of stock items in for trying. Definitely worth going to highly recommended! Can't praise high enough!
I bought this beautiful Yamaha Saxophone online two months ago its so nice but it didn't come with the plastic bag also have a lot of fingerprints and scratches in different places its really make me sad other than that, everything is fine. I have sent a lot of emails to ""Matt"" and i told him that I was surprised and felt sad because I knew that you are a good company and I did not expect this so he told me he would send to me a Denis Wick Silver Cloth Order number ORD156464 So I haven't received anything since then also they did not answer my emails at all I am very upset about this..
Fantastic music store. The tech team, Anna, gave me so much great advice and time to decide on the adjustments to my tenor horn. I even drove there from London to get my horn adapted. The work done was top class. I will be buying all my horns from them, and getting all my service and tech work done there as well. Well done Dawkes and thank you Anna.
Had soprano sax repaired today. Done in under 2 hours for £45, plays perfectly. Playtested two secondhand soprano saxes which played brand new. Excellent staff, excellent customer service, friendly and all around a perfect experience every time I go. I can't possibly praise these guys more, they are always my go-to when buying a new instrument or needing repairs done.
I have used dawkes music a few times and I have found them very good. Very sufficient and caring. I sent some dent balls back that were wrong size and they phoned me to let me no that they had got them back and they will issue refund. I highly recommend this company to you. 5
Dawkes were absolutely amazing I had some problems with a clarinet that I bought from them a few months ago in a sale and after talking to Chantelle on the phone, we arranged that I would pop in with my clarinet on the way to a course that I was attending as I live so far away, meanwhile after sending her lots of pictures, she got the ball rolling from her end, promising me that I would go home with a clarinet in the arranged date. On arrival Dawkes, Matt greeted me, offered me a cup of tea as it was a long drive, he knew all about the issues, my clarinet was taken into the workshop, the relevant bits replaced and it had a mini service whilst I waited, came out sounding better than it did when I bought it. First class service! On the way home from the course I stopped by again to look at Tenor Sax mouthpieces. Dawkes couldn't do enough for me, sorted me out with a cuppa on arrival, a range of mouthpieces were all set up for me to try out, I went through a quite a few and after a couple of hours, I decided on the one that suited me. Can't fault the Dawkes team
This is a great place that has everything - easy parking, warm welcome, friendly professional service, reasonable prices. A tricky repair to my baritone saxophone was carried out same day while I waited.

Employees Lou and Kasey were amazing and assisted me in purchasing my dream horn. I was a little nervous buying something from the UK and having it sent to me in the US but they made the process easy and painless. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new instrument no matter where you are. Prices are fantastic. I was able to purchase my new horn and have it imported cheaper than I could have bought it here in the US. Ended up saving myself $2500. Will not hesitate to buy from them in the future.
Tremendous music shop for wind! Workshop for repair is top notch and so helpful and not expensive. Everyone who works here loves music and it comes across. Pleasure to visit.
