Honestly the price is nowhere near justified. It's purely priced that way just to keep people out so that it's quieter. The equipment isn't anything special, the pool is regularly dirty, the air con breaks down all the time, the WiFi is often off. Can't fault the staff at least, they're all very nice and helpful. I only pay to go here simply because I won't go to Total Fitness for personal reasons, and the council pools are too restrictive in the times you can use them, leaving this over priced racket as the only alternative for swimming.
The facilities are generally good but not at all maintained. The staff are friendly but management is ineffective. The membership team are almost invisible and the aftersale service is diabolical. My family paid up front for a one year membership. The kids clubs were difficult to book into and did not align with the offer for the adults. The children were not allowed to use balls or toys in the pool area. The restaurant was sub standard and took on average over an hour to receivee our meals. Then to add insult to injury they charged us for an additional 3 months membership despite us cancelling when they told us to. If I ran my business like this I would never have any repeat clients. Such a dissapointing experience.
Awful right now. Undergoing referb so the gym is currently in the tennis courts. Always so busy you can't get on the machines you want and members are rude and "reserve" equipment. Really frustrated at the cost vs overall experience.
I use the hairdresser's and the staff there are wonderful. The parking is another matter. Considering that this is a gym, some of the people who go there, are very selfish , inconsiderate and lazy regarding parking. They park in the blue badge disabled parking bays, when they have no right to.
Great facilities, always clean, lots of classes, very family friendly. Best gym I've been to in the area, happy to pay more to somewhere that makes me want to go and exercise. Still waiting for the new spa facilities, they look like they're going to be amazing. New gym floor is much improved, more machines, more room
Many thanks to Chris, the Lifeguard on duty today. We forgot to ask for towels at reception today and he made sure we got some sent down to the pool. Excellent customer service Chris, Many thanks
Just awful at the moment. There’s a £14 deal on so it’s absolute chaos. The pool resembles a scene from butlins/Benidorm. Members don’t get anything and the focus is on just getting more and more people to sign up. I understand it’s a business however they will just lose more members due to over crowding. You can’t get a sun lounger, the jacuzzi has been broken for 7 weeks. The place is dirty and really doesn’t justify the money. The only positive is the staff, they are just amazing. Really friendly, always smiling and probably the only reason we stay! The refurbishment is underway however if the place loses its reputation though ‘bargain’ deals then I’m afraid that we won’t be staying to see the finished result. Whoever is coming up with these ‘incentives’ really needs their P45.
Just want your money !!! And do not provide the service they advertise and never get back to you when you have questions
Generally when I have been to this place I have had a positive experience. It has good tennis courts and a decent swimming pool, sauna, steam room etc. Reception desk is always friendly and the staff generally are great. Did have a bit disastrous experience getting food there the last time I visited. Food was cold and burnt and took ages to come. We had been visited three times with the wrong meals even though it clearly didn't match the number of people that were at our table. The poor lad on the floor was having a right time of it and we were one of at least 5 tables going hungry. Also, why have time limited guest passes on a membership? Baffling.
Having been members since it opened, it was nice to return and have breakfast with friends and staff. Teesside club has always had a good feel, better than some of the others we have used over the years. Unfortunately we now live in Mid Wales and no club around.
