I recently stayed at this lovely hotel in and had a wonderful experience. The place felt cozy and welcoming from the moment I arrived. One of the biggest conveniences was the on-site parking, which made the trip so much easier.nnThe hospitality was truly exceptional — the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The restaurant was another highlight, offering delicious food and a warm atmosphere that made every meal enjoyable.nnAlthough the hotel is about a 20-minute drive from central Edinburgh, the comfort, service, and overall experience more than made up for the distance. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
We recently stayed at the Dakota , my husband, my daughter and myself, just before Christmas 2025. We were extremely happy with our two rooms; exceptionally comfortable beds and lovely en-suites .nBreakfast was superb, lots of choices at the buffet to help yourself to. Evening meals were lovely too.nThe hotel staff were superb; polite , professional and friendly. We would most definitely stay at the Dakota again and would thoroughly recommend.nThankyou for making our short stay a pleasurable experience
Really disappointing stay at a hotel we love to visit, booked a suite for the night as a birthday celebration and had a number of issues that left us feeling that service is nowhere near as good as it used to bennAt check in the wrong amount was initially put in card machine and would have been charged over £27000 for the night if my wife didn't notice then after that was rectified we were still over charged by £10nnWent down to the bar to have some drinks and were quite abruptly told to take a seat and wait on table service. We took a seat at a table were completely ignored for over 20 minutes so decided to just leave and asked at reception for a drink just to be sent to our roomnnUsual evening turndown service didn't happennnAsked if I could possibly have room service for breakfast and told that wasn't possiblennCalled today as the £50 room deposit hadn't been refunded to be told it would take 3 to 5 days which we were not told at check innnReally really disappointing from a hotel that is usually very good
I cannot fault this place. Room was spotlessly clean. Amazing shower. Massive TV, comfy bed. Superb coffee/tea making facilities, temp control worked great. One of the best if not the best I've been in for an overnight stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. 10/10
We were gifted a voucher for Dinner Bed &Breakfast as we decided to stay Sunday to Monday we opted for Sunday late lunch and the Bed & Breakfast. From when we arrived we had a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, we were given all the information details.nThe room was very clean with everything needed for our stay .nWe had a 3 course lunch which was excellent and the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. As it was an anniversary we had complementary Champagne, the service was exceptional with at least 3 different staff attending us nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the meal we were given a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate with Turkish delight and chocolates very nice touch.nBreakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and again excellent service would like to thank Kirsty and all the staff we will definitely come back.nAnn and Andy Brown
