Victotia Rd says it all. Modest, humble, petite house. Visit, then follow the 5 mile walk to see how the authors prosperity changed his family fortunes.
Really enjoyed this museum visit, the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, would definitely recommend. Worth calling just in case they have a large group visit planned though.
This museum gave good insight into Lawrence's childhood and the lifestyle of the people in the area during early part of 20th century. Staff was really helpful. However, there was no many memorabilia in the gift shop.
Lovely place 1st hour free in the council car parks but you do need to display the ticket
Such a shame we couldn’t have a proper look round but the lovely lady gave us a sneak peak of two of the rooms hopefully we will find time to go again
Been here a couple of times now, took one sister who is a massive book worm a couple of weeks ago, visited again today with 2 more sisters. We all found it fasinating. Thank you to the 2 ladies who were in charge today, very welcoming. Will be coming back again!
For a guided tour of a 2 up, 2 down to take an hour & for it to be as interesting at the end as at the start is a testament to the guides. Really interesting.
We were very impressed with the museum and the lovely vintage preserved house, well worth a visit.
A mix of modern exhibition material and authentic Victorian rooms. Not sure how much of the artefacts actually belonged to the Lawrence family.
Whent there years ago with the family had a great time
