Love Mr Brown's surgery, it definitely has a family feel to it no matter if talking to a receptionist over the phone or actually taking a pet in to be seen Mr Brown's focus is what's best for the animal leaving no room for any nonsense in his practice. He's there solely to make the animal better not the human and he's certainly not interested in making a huge profit for himself. Things can come across as a little bit sharp in tone when giving diagnosis but all in all he's exactly what I want when my animals need a vet - straight to the point with no frills attached. With a lifetime of experience in animal care behind him I can't imagine there's much of any issue a animal could be suffering with that he's not seen time and time again before. It's a shame other vets haven't got the same values as Mr Brown because the highest profits should never be the priority when caring for animals
Mr brown was a fantastic vet but unfortunately he has passed away so the practice is now closed
Brilliant. All the one stars are because of personality clash. He is a great vet, who knows his stuff. He cares only about the animals. People lie. Animals dont.
We had a problem with our 6 year old neutered female cat suddenly displaying signs of being in heat. She lost weight and every Tom cat in the area was coming to the house and even through the cat flap. We thought we were going to lose her, but we took her to Mr Brown and he gave her an injection that they use for female ferrets and she has gained weight and the Tom cats have suddenly stopped coming round. Thank you Mr Brown. Highly recommended.
Cannot thank Mr Brown and the lovely ladies at the veterinary for the care they gave to my dog Ollie. Very professional and reassuring for me as his owner. When it was time for Ollie to go he left with dignity and compassion, through to him being returned to us. I would recommend anyone that has any pet to seek out mr brown as we are truly grateful for all they did for us.
I took my dog here since my usual vet is closed with covid cases and my dog needed his yearly booster. Immediately, the vet asked "why's his fur like that?!" in a very accusatory tone, so I explained that my dog is a wire haired fox terrier crossed with a jack russel, and it's supposed to be like that. He just said 'oh' and we went into the surgery proper. This left an immediate bad taste in my mouth. As the vet prepared the injections, he was fumbling around a lot. He was quite an elderly man, but it felt near unprofessional how much trouble he was having. By the time they were prepared, my dog was very agitated and turned to growl at him. Whilst not great at the vet's, he usually gets the injection before he gets too upset, but that obviously wasn't the case here. The vet asked to muzzle him and I agreed, since I would rather my dog be muzzled for a few minutes than be in trouble for biting. The muzzle the vet eventually found was laughably small. My dog is quite little, but this muzzle was clearly intended an incredibly small dog, probably even a chihuahua. So I tell him it's too small but the vet insisted, and began forcing the muzzle on my dog, who is absolutely terrified by this point. It won't go on because it's tiny so I spoke up again, and again the vet brushed off my concerns and continued trying to force it there was absolutely no room left in the muzzle, despite him being unable to fasten it. Frustrated and concerned for my dog, I pulled him away from the vet and told him I'd be leaving. If that was the experience just trying to fasten a tiny muzzle, I did not want him putting a needle into my dog's neck. The vet then proceeded to throw the muzzle across the room in anger, and loudly curse at me as I left the surgery in tears. The experience was awful - I left extremely upset and my poor dog was terribly scared by the entire encounter.
Fantastic care. Mr Brown gave Minnie her injection and checked her over for me to settle my mind at no additional cost. A brilliant vet, with years of experience. I would always trust his judgement.
Mr Brown is a brilliant vet, he as treated my dog & cats. My cat got really ill when she was a kitten to the point we didnt think she was going to make it, but mr brown wouldnt give up on her & she is now a happy healthy 5 year old cat. Every time we take them he does a full check up, best vet, wouldn't go to anywhere else!
