Lovely site with great views, feels like a different time and a different world to the midlands. The owner is friendly. It was a nice place to spend a couple of nights. I can imagine when its really busy you'll struggle to find a flat spot but it actually absorbed a reasonable number of guests without you even noticing. There is a freezer by the rest rooms which it would have been helpful to of found earlier.
Great place to come for camping. Very friendly owner, I just come and no problem with booking or reservation. Cash payment . I pay 20 f for 2 nights. Shower , toilets and fresh water on site. Very tidy and clean. Beautiful view. Highly recommended for see a airplane at Mach loop or walking in mountain. Dog-friendliness: All dogs welcome. Picnic area: You can do small fire .
Great place to camp, very clean toilets, washing up area and drinking water, Ehu also available. We camped for 4 nights and will be back again. Within walking distance of the mach loop and a lot of great walks. Owner Is great always happy to help, please note it is a working farm so if you can't get through leave a message and they will get back to you. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed but must be on a lead at all times as it is a working farm.
This place is simply great for camping, offering an awesome value that is hard to beat. Stunning views and the proximity to the beach is a huge plus, allowing for easy access to both mountain and seaside activities. The campsite itself is beautifully organized, making it straightforward and hassle-free from arrival to departure. Facilities are clean and well-kept. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable outdoor adventure.
Wow!!!! What a place!!! Magnificent views of Cadair Idris most scenic place we’ve ever stayed. The walk up the stones steps to the lake is a must do. Breathtakingly beautiful Amenities were ok, and functional. Showers/ dish washing/ chemical waste point/ plenty of water points located around the site. Good dog walking around the site. The owner Hugh was very welcoming and willing to share his knowledge and history of the land. Very genuine person. Will definitely return not only for the stunning beauty but to see Hugh.
Lovely campsite, owner is a legend! Clean toilets and shower and directly under the Mach Loop, if you are lucky like we were you could get to see F-35's! Great campsite, we will be back. Thank you!
Excellently positioned site to watch fighter jets and other aircraft on the Mach loop. Site is a 20 minute gradual hike to Cad East and Cad West hillsides straight from the camp site and avoiding main roads which are the best viewing areas here for passing aircraft. The site itself is basic but adequate hence 3 stars… average. No running hot water to wash pots was a downside but you can fill a container from the toilets with ‘warm’ water to take to the pot washing sinks just outside the loos. Showers take 20p. Only one shower in each of the ladies and the gents and at time of writing, 20p gives you a 3 minute electric shower. With a large camping field, and good number of seasonal caravans on site, I would imagine there’s sometimes a queue for showering! Hugh, the farmer/owner, was very accommodating on site and busy calving and made this stay a welcoming one. We’re used to staying on camp sites with above average washing/loo facilities. After the initial disappointment here, having prebooked, we very quickly got used to it, and the proximity to the jet viewing route more than made up for it. The site is beautifully quiet too… just the sounds from the farm and the babbling brook running behind the caravan area. We will be back!
Fantastic location, facilities basic but more than we expected. perfect for Idris or the Loop, Old bridal way along the stream takes you from the campsite to the Cad West layby via a couple of waterfalls. EHU for caravans and campervans separate field for tents with open fires allowed. The owner Hugh is a real gem and always stops for a chat. Would not hesitate to return or recommend.
Lovely area to visit. Nice location and very friendly owner. Clean facilities, but basic. You need transportation to go to the nearest pub as 3miles away Friendly Donkey to say hello too.
Absolutely most wonderful campsite. The owner is super nice and helpful. Great location for Cadair Idris but also for views. Really recommend. Bring 20p coins for shower. It was nice and hot
