You get what you pay for, ordinary hotel, nothing too bad, nothing great. It caters very much to coach parties (of which I was a member ) food is good but times very prescriptive according to coach departure. Most hotels I have been to have a breakfast window say 7.00 to 9.00 , then it is up to the guest when they come down to eat. Equally with waiter service, they keep strictly to an allocation of tables, with our waiter being somewhat tardy, there was this ludicrous scenario of us still waiting to be seen to, while those coming down after were tucking into their meal and other waiting staff were waiting around doing nothing! If you did not want to play evening bingo, there is alternative amusements ha, a very dilapidated Scrabble set and two volumes of Proust for light reading! The hotel is too far from Fort William and the bus service is awful. Unless this hotel comes as part of a package avoid

Lackluster reception. Was told room was on first floor, but it was actually the top floor. Absolutely ZERO sound insulation, creaky floors. Breakfast room looked like something from a convalescence home. Deplorable breakfast. Wait staff were more interested in setting up the tables for the next meal service than making sure the cold food area was adequately stocked, which it was NOT. Foreign items floating in almost empty milk pitcher. Porridge looked like it had been cooked for days, with more and more water added to it as it cooked to death. Shower was good. Warm enough and very good pressure, but I doubt I'd stay here again.

Rooms really could do with some maintenance and updating. No facility to get a hot drink other than what's in the room. Reasonable prices but bar is not open until the evening. Location is close to fort William which was handy for climbing Ben Nevis. Beautiful lake right out front but couldn't specify you wanted a lake view room online so we had a view of some shrubbery.

A huge room for the 2 of us. Lots of storage, also a large bathroom, a very good shower and our balcony was nice too. Decor was well out of date, so needs updating! The food wasn't that great bit for £16 for a three course meal one cannot complain too much. The bar was standard. The hotel caters for an older clientel, so be aware of this when you consider booking.

An average experience from start to finish. The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. Gets an extra star for the supreme views from sea side rooms!
